Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear preference for recycling in the introduction, and you begin to give relevant reasons, including its potential as a long-term solution and its environmental benefits. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain the view that people should consume less, and your own position is not supported with developed examples. The final sentence is cut off, so the argument remains incomplete. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, which limits how fully you can discuss both views and give reasons. To improve, explain the strongest argument for reducing consumption, compare it with recycling, and support your opinion with a specific example and a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an identifiable introduction followed by an attempt to develop the recycling argument, and signposting such as “First and foremost” and “Secondly” shows an effort to organise ideas. However, the response does not progress through a complete discussion: the opposing view is absent, and the final idea ends abruptly. The transition “Only one hand” does not clearly introduce the intended point, while the opening paragraph’s contrast between “the former view” and “the latter” is difficult to follow because the views are not clearly defined. Paragraphing and linking are therefore not yet sufficient to make the argument coherent. Use a clear paragraph for each view, connect each reason to its explanation, and finish with a conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “environmental pollution,” “eco-friendly,” “sustainable development,” and “implement new policies.” This gives the response a basic range suited to the subject. However, vocabulary is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts less clear, such as “induv iduals,” “relavant authoroties,” “comman,” and “amoung.” Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “consider about this” and “recycling bags, papers.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. You could use phrases such as “recycling household waste,” “reduce the strain on local communities,” and “adopt effective recycling policies” to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a good solution which is also a more effective long term plan” and a conditional structure beginning “if the authorities can implement new policies.” However, the range remains limited, and errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “with the rapid development and growth population” lacks a clear grammatical relationship between the nouns, and “the relevant authorities also have started to consider about this” uses an incorrect verb pattern. The final conditional sentence is incomplete. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, prepositions, and punctuation before finishing.
