Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, recycling has become an important issue. Some people believe that recycle is best way while others think that we need to consume less. In my opinion we need to consume less.
Firstly, one of the main reason is that more and more people are choosing to recycle. This is beacuse in the way of recycling they get some money to recycle any thing. For example, when someone get plastic botel he/she use it for some time then he/he go to the market and put the botel in the recycling machine and get some money back. The recycle company crush this botel into the small pieces and then burn it to give new shape to the botels. Whne the company burn the botel its impact on the envoirment very badly. Therefore some people choose the way of recycle to get money but they don't think about bad impact of it on the envoirment and air.
Secondly, some people suggest that recycling is not enough they believe we need to consume less. In addition, these people are right because when we consume less then we waste less. For instance, when we get wool shopping bag instead of plastic shopping bag then we do not have to recycle it and we don't give any chance to impact in the envoirment.
In conclusion, I believe that recycling is not enough we have to consume less to safe our envoirment. This is mainly because when we consume less then we have less chance to gets bad envoirment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear opinion that people should consume less, and you mention both recycling and reduced consumption. However, the discussion of recycling is not fully focused: the paragraph mainly describes how bottles are returned for money and processed, rather than explaining the benefits of recycling or weighing them against its limitations. The claim that companies burn bottles is also unclear and needs accurate support. Your reusable-bag example is relevant, but it is brief and does not develop the wider case for consuming less. The response contains 230 words, so it is 20 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop both views more fully and make the comparison explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument, and your opinion remains consistent. However, progression within the first body paragraph is not always clear: the explanation moves from receiving money to crushing and burning bottles, then to the environmental impact, without clearly connecting these points to the advantages and limits of recycling. Linking phrases such as “In addition” and “Therefore” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not precisely express the relationship between ideas. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a clearer sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycle,” “consume less,” “plastic shopping bag,” and “environment,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “recycle,” “botel,” and “environment.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “beacuse,” “envoirment,” and “safe our environment,” which make parts of the response less clear or natural. Some expressions, including “get some money to recycle any thing” and “give new shape to the botels,” are awkwardly phrased. Build a wider set of accurate terms for waste reduction and environmental effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “when we consume less then we waste less.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles. Examples include “one of the main reason,” “when someone get,” and “we have less chance to gets.” The sentence “its impact on the envoirment very badly” is missing a verb and has an unclear grammatical structure. Some longer sentences also combine several ideas without secure control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, article use, and complete sentence patterns before adding more complexity. Clearer punctuation and shorter sentences would also help readers follow your explanations.
