Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is increase in the number of people who are much worry for their environment that they are adopting the recycle stretegy, however some people believe that recycling is not only the solution, they have to cut back the products that are difficult to recycle. Recycling is not always the solution as the population of people using that products is larger than the people conserving it. In my opinion both recycling and consuming less is equally important for the sake of environment protection.
Recycling is very imortant factor in reducing the land pollution, as well as, conservation of the land and water. People in the developed countries are often motivated to recycle by giving them cash as a prize in return of plsticc waste and bottles of the relative brand. Recycling is ofen thought in the schools as 3R priciples, reduce, reuse and recycle, so that they can develop a sense of responsibility and love for nature since childhood. For example, recycling of glass bottles and metals is very common in my country, both these materials are used to make more products but of course with low quality.
The suggesstion of some people in less consuming is good also because some products like plastics remain in the environment for hundred of years, it cannot be destroyed completely as burning of plastic also causes air pollution, moreover, the plastic bags are used in very high proportions. Almost every shop have these bags for the customers, hence they should be banned. An example of this is, in my country, plastic bags are completely banned since last year, moreover, people have replaced these bags with the paper bags and clothes tote bags. Although, these bags are more expensive, however, this change was needed for long term environment protection.
To put it in a nutshell, both less consumption of the harmful products and recycling should be done in order to save the Earth. As Earth is our motherland, we should protect it at all the cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear position: “both recycling and consuming less is equally important.” The response gives relevant support, including recycling glass and metals and the example of a ban on plastic bags in your country. This meets the task’s main requirements. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits of recycling are explained through several points, while the case for reducing consumption focuses mainly on plastic bags. The claim that recycling is insufficient because more people use products than conserve them is also unclear and needs explanation. To strengthen the discussion, compare the impact and limitations of each approach and develop your opinion with a more specific example or reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “moreover,” and “To put it in a nutshell.” At times, however, these links feel mechanical or are used in ways that do not show the relationship precisely. For instance, “moreover” appears repeatedly in the paragraph about plastic bags, and “Although” followed by “however” creates unnecessary duplication. Some references are also unclear, as in “both these materials,” where the reader must infer the intended materials. Use a wider range of transitions and make each connection between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “land pollution,” “conservation,” “recycle,” “plastic bags,” and “environment protection.” These choices help communicate the subject, and phrases such as “long term” show an attempt to express broader environmental consequences. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, including “stretegy,” “imortant,” “plsticc,” and “less consuming.” Some wording is also vague, such as “the relative brand” and “products that are difficult to recycle.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and choose precise terms for the environmental actions being discussed. This would make your vocabulary more flexible and convincing without changing the clear meaning of most sentences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “as,” “because,” and “although.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “There is increase” needs an article, and “Almost every shop have these bags” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “Although, these bags are more expensive, however” combines two contrasting structures unnecessarily. There are also long sentences joined by commas, which can make relationships between ideas less clear. Practise checking articles and agreement, and divide lengthy sentences or connect their clauses with appropriate punctuation. More consistent control would make your complex sentences easier to read.
