Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, it has become serious threats around the globe. Few individuals argue that, an environment pollution has serious concerns and it is increasing rapidely due to people are choosing to recycle. However, some individual suggest that recycling is not sufficient way and we need to consume less amount of plastic in day to day life. In this essay, I will discuss both the views before giving my own opinion in the following paragraphs with suitable examples.

On the one hand, it is the biggest concerns in every country and there are multiple consequences of doing this problems. Firstly, most of the people uses private fimes use plastic for packaging and other purposes and it creates large amount of pollution in the air as a result it can be damaged our environment. Secondly, most of the shopkeeper prefer plastic items in nowadays because, it is very cheaper and available every where inside the cities. But, consumer do not take plastic bags in supermarket. For example, plastic recycling can take approximately 100 years so, people do not use plastic items.

On the othe hand, reprocess is a good ides to reduce large amount of waste. In addition, people do not use plastic bags or plastic items because, it is harmful our health and environment as a result people always prefer to use handmade bags or eco-friendly bags. For instance, when shopkeeper gave plastic bag during that time customer can take avoid this bags and uses cotton bags. Furthermore, the government can strict action on this problem and totally banned plastic inside the countries.

In conclusion, I think it is very serious problem in present days and people use eco-friendly bags so, it can beneficial for our environment. Not only plastic spread large amount of pollution but also factories and private industry spred dangerous air directly into air and it is danger for our health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce the environmental issue and include points about recycling, reducing plastic use, reusable bags and government action. However, the discussion does not clearly explain the two views in the prompt: the first body paragraph focuses mainly on plastic pollution, while the second argues against plastic use rather than explaining why recycling is valuable. Your own position is also difficult to identify; the conclusion supports eco-friendly bags but does not directly state whether recycling is enough or consumption must fall. Some examples, such as the claim that plastic recycling takes about 100 years, are unclear or do not support the point as written. Address both views explicitly, then explain and support a consistent opinion with relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic framework. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from packaging pollution to shopkeepers and then to recycling time without clearly connecting these points. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” are used, but they do not always show the actual relationship between ideas. Some references, including “doing this problems” and “this bags,” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, develop it in a logical sequence, and use linking words only where they clarify that sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “pollution,” “recycle,” “eco-friendly,” “factories,” and “environment,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repetitive choices make meaning less clear. Phrases such as “reprocess,” “private fimes,” “large amount of pollution,” and “dangerous air” are either unsuitable or imprecise in context. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, for example “rapidely,” “othe,” “ides,” and “spred.” Build a more accurate set of expressions for discussing waste and consumption, and check spelling and collocations. More precise wording would help you explain the distinction between recycling and consuming less.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using structures such as “because” and “as a result,” but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “it has become serious threats” has a subject–verb and number problem, while “most of the people uses” shows incorrect agreement. In “it can be damaged our environment,” the verb pattern is incorrect, and several sentences join clauses without suitable punctuation. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a environment pollution” and “plastic item.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement, verb forms, articles and punctuation.
