Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowdays environment problem are increasing all over the world many people think that recycling is a very good way to save our planet and everyone should do it . however other people believe that recycling is not enough becuase we are buying too many things and we need to consume less in this eassy i will discuss both side and give my opinion.

On the other hand recycling is very important for our environment . Every day people throw away a lot of plastic bottle papers and cans . if we recycle them we can use them again and make new things .this helps to reduced waste in the cities for example ,in many countaries peopel have differnent rubbish . this good because it protect nature nd keps the air clean therfore many people prefer to cycle more and more.

On the other hand some people argue that recycling cannot solve all problem . they say that the main problem is that people buy toom food cloths and electonice items . When factories so even if we stop recycling the population is already there if we stop buying unnecessary iteam factories will producess less . this is a better way because it reduced the wast from beginning.

In my opinion i think both view are correct but consuming less is more important . recycling is good but we cannot recycle everything . if we change our lifestyle and stop wasting things the environment will become much better to protect yours environment .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear opinion: recycling is useful, but reducing consumption matters more. The discussion includes relevant points, such as reusing bottles, paper and cans, and the idea that buying fewer unnecessary items could reduce factory production and waste at its source. These points keep the response focused on the question. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. The recycling example about separate rubbish bins is not clearly connected to how recycling benefits the environment, and the point about factories is difficult to follow. Develop each view with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a specific example, then reinforce your opinion in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. This makes the main direction understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links are mechanical or unclear. Both body paragraphs begin with “On the other hand,” although the first presents the recycling view; a more accurate transition would help distinguish the positions. The sentence beginning “When factories so” interrupts the explanation and makes the relationship between consumption and production hard to follow. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect supporting details with clear references and logical transitions. This would make the organisation more coherent and reduce the reader’s need to infer connections.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “environment,” “waste,” “factories,” and “unnecessary items,” so the reader can identify the subject and main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and word-form errors make parts of the message difficult to understand, such as “different rubbish,” “protect nature,” and “reduced the wast from beginning.” Some expressions are also imprecise, including “cycle more and more,” which does not clearly mean recycling. Build a more accurate set of environmental collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “separating household waste” and “reducing waste at its source” rather than relying on vague or incorrect phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional idea in “if we recycle them we can use them again,” and you communicate the broad argument despite errors. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, verb forms, articles and plurals occur throughout. For example, “environment problem are increasing” has agreement and number problems, while “this helps to reduced waste” uses an incorrect verb form. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences joined or separated unclearly. Practise building accurate complex sentences with “if,” “because” and “so,” and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb. More reliable control would make your reasoning easier to follow.
