Student answer (Band 6.0)

In contemporary society, the issue regarding to ecology is becoming increasingly, sparking a considerable debate. Some people argue that we should reuse material rather than wasting, while others contend that, we should minimize the usage of numerous things in our daily lives. From my perspective, do not waste or use extra goods because much items cannot be recycled, by this we can make our surroundings more clean.

On one hand, it is inevitable that manufacturing recycle goods consume more water, energy and transportation, it cannot pace with exponential globe consumption. Number of things cannot be reuse due to its poor quality and ends up in the waste bin. For example, many countries have banned the usage of plastic bags to make their surroundings more eco-friendly. They knew reuse of these things is more hard than the low consumption.

On the other hand, this issue is profoundly paradoxical due to its inevitable challenges. Manufacturing fewer new items from previous directly decreases factory pollution, emission of greenhouse gas and fossil fuel burning. Moving away from disposable convenience forces a transition toward durable, repairable, and long lasting goods. Reducing consumption cuts down on raw material extraction, timber logging, mining, and oil drilling.

To conclude, the issue of concern for the environment is increasing with inevitable challenges, a balance approach is required. Government and individuals alike to ensure that this is an integral part of our social framework, and ignoring the root cause of solution will exacerbate the situation. Government should set laws for pollution free environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a preference for reducing waste and avoiding unnecessary consumption. The discussion of recycling is relevant, particularly the point that some materials cannot be reused and that processing recycled goods requires resources. Your second body paragraph also gives clear reasons to consume less, such as reducing emissions and raw-material extraction. However, the two positions are not explored equally: the recycling argument is brief, and the plastic-bag example does not clearly demonstrate why recycling is insufficient. Your conclusion calls for a “balance approach” but does not clearly restate how recycling and reduced consumption should work together. Develop the comparison and support each main claim with a more specific explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the broad progression. However, some connections between ideas are unclear or mechanical. For example, the first body paragraph moves from the resource costs of recycling to plastic-bag bans without explaining the link, while “They knew reuse of these things…” has an unclear reference. The conclusion introduces a balance but does not connect it explicitly to the arguments already presented. Use clearer transitions within paragraphs and make pronouns and references unambiguous; this would make the overall progression more consistently easy to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “greenhouse gas,” “fossil fuel burning,” “raw material extraction,” and “durable, repairable.” These terms help communicate relevant environmental ideas, and some less common expressions show an effort to be precise. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “issue regarding to ecology,” “manufacturing recycle goods,” and “more hard.” “A balance approach” also uses the wrong form of the adjective. These slips do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, but they reduce naturalness and precision. Focus on learning common environmental collocations and checking whether each word fits its grammatical and contextual role.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening and longer sentences explaining environmental effects. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “manufacturing recycle goods consume” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “Number of things cannot be reuse” has errors in article use and verb form. The opening sentence also contains an incomplete construction in “From my perspective, do not waste…”; a complete clause such as “I believe we should…” would make your position clearer. In the conclusion, “Government and individuals alike to ensure” lacks a finite verb. Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement, articles, and passive forms, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
