Student answer (Band 5.5)

Clean environment is considered to be beneficial for our health. Many people believed that recycling is only solution for cleaned sorroundings whearas some people believed that recycling is not enough people should consume less. From my perspective, recycling is necessary but not the only solution to reduce pollution.

On the one hand, plastics has been considered as one of the main reasons for pollution as it is very dangerous. According to the research, plastics are not demolished in 100 of years so the only sollution is recyling. For example, reuse of bottles and bags, recycling of food instead throw away used as a natural fertilizer for plants.

On the other hand, minimum consumption of resources as much as possible, this could be the reason for less pollution. For instance, less use of fuel and oil, instead of polythene bags used fabric bags or used of glass bottle instead use plastic bottles.

From my perspective, Both are very essential for neat and clean environment. Recyclings as well as minimum consumption of resources. Government should implement strict rules and regulations for overuse of resources and heavy fine on people for throwing colthes and foods here and there. Moreover, government should provide financial incentives for standing the baskets all over the town that says reuse.

In conclution, recyling and less consumption is not only solution for clean sorroundings. Not only government but also ever individual should take care of every little things that damage the environment. we should take of the plants, water and and noise which has been really harmful for people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a relevant position: “recycling is necessary but not the only solution.” The response also gives examples, including reusing bottles and bags and reducing fuel use. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The recycling paragraph makes a broad claim that recycling is “the only solution,” which conflicts with your stated view, and the example about food waste is difficult to follow. The case for consuming less is also brief and does not explain clearly how reduced consumption would lower pollution. Your conclusion introduces plants, water and noise, which are not developed in the main discussion. Explain each view more fully and keep examples closely tied to the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. These markers help readers identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some ideas are placed together without a clear link. For example, the recycling paragraph moves from plastic’s persistence to bottles, bags and food waste, while the final paragraph shifts to plants, water and noise. The repeated use of “From my perspective” also makes the organisation feel repetitive. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports; ensure the conclusion summarises the discussion rather than adding new topics.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “pollution,” “resources,” “financial incentives” and “strict rules and regulations.” This gives the response a basic range for discussing environmental action. However, vocabulary is often repetitive or inaccurately chosen, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to understand. Phrases such as “cleaned sorroundings,” “plastics are not demolished,” and “standing the baskets” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “sollution,” “recyling,” “colthes” and “conclution.” Build a more accurate set of environmental collocations and check spelling carefully. Prefer precise expressions such as “decompose,” “reduce consumption,” and “provide recycling bins.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as it is very dangerous” and a conditional structure in “this could be the reason for less pollution.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors often make sentences hard to follow. For example, “Many people believed that recycling is only solution” has an unclear tense and is missing an article, while “minimum consumption of resources as much as possible” is a sentence fragment. Subject–verb agreement is also problematic in “plastics has been considered,” and the final sentence contains a faulty construction: “we should take of the plants.” Practise complete sentences, consistent tense, articles and agreement, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
