Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear preference for consuming less, especially in the conclusion: “consuming less is the better solution.” The recycling paragraph includes examples of incentives in Germany and a local company, while the second view explains that lower demand could reduce industrial production and energy use. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the examples are not fully explained, and the link between reduced consumption and environmental benefits remains general. The opening also ends with a sentence fragment rather than setting out your position clearly. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how recycling and reduced consumption each help, and develop the reasons behind your opinion with relevant, clearly described examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about recycling, a contrasting paragraph about consuming less, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several linking expressions are repetitive or awkward, including “Consequently,” “Furthermore,” and “In a result.” Some sentences are fragments, such as “Such as plastic bags…” and “To minimize the harmful emissions…,” which interrupt the flow. The unexplained text “lkjsdf” also disrupts the argument. Use complete sentences, organise each paragraph around one clear point, and choose fewer, more accurate transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycle,” “consumption,” “production industries,” and “environment,” and you attempt phrases such as “harmful emissions” and “eco system.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “cold drinks canes,” “submit there trash,” and “make exchange with just recycled trash.” Spelling errors such as “enviroment,” “emisions,” and “coclusion” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise environmental vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe “returnable cans,” “deposit their waste,” or “exchange recyclable materials for furniture” to express these ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea beginning “if local people of a region try to spend less.” However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. The opening contains a comma splice and fragments: “However, Some people suggest…” and “To minimize…” are not joined into complete sentences. There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “the machine… give money” and “less electricity and power will utilize.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are often unreliable, including capital letters after commas and full stops. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation.
