Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's fast-paced world, the environmental challenges are growing rapidly and numerous individuals are often choosing the recycle to solve this problem. While, people argued that recycling is not enough to address this obstacle , they believe that we should need to consume less. Although, recycling is compulsory because it help to make the waste reusable instead of just dumped in the environment, I believe that we should be considered other measures too such as reduction in our consumption and create awareness campaigns.
The environmental problems are increasingly expanding day by day, the public often choose to recycle their waste that helps them to handle . Firstly, this procedure could help to make the wastes reusable again and again. Secondly, if we don not reduce our consumption just make the recycling system efficient , it would help to address environmental issues effectively. Moreover, recycling could be effective because we do not need to use new resources in production . For instance, the aluminum cans that used for cold drinks , recycling is effective for them because it reduce production costs that might be higher in case we make the cans we new raw material. Therefore, recycling process could help to solve environmental problems with less use of resources and also a cost effective process.
On the other hand, numerous argue that recycling is not enough to tackle these environmental hurdles, we should need to consume less. Firstly, if we consider the only recycling process to handle these challenges then it might be create more problems instead of solutions. Moreover, if our consumption growing rapidly because recycling could handle these wastes this behaviour could make the recycling more difficult and expensive. Furthermore, we should need to reduce our consumption too because if we consume it mean less waste will create and needs less efforts to recycle it. For instance, plastic bags usage are increasing day by day, we often see them around the roads and streets it is already a problem , furthermore if we recycle them then we needs huge labour efforts , costs and more production units that make them usable again. However, recycling is also a considerable approach to address these issues , I believe that recycling alone is not enough to tackle these hurdles . We should consider other measure that help to encourage the public through awareness campaigns and less consumption of resources.
In conclusion, although recycling procedure if effective to make the waste usable again and again and solve environmental challenges . However, i believe that we should adopt other approaches too that could be effective to encourage the people through awareness campaigns through media and educational institutions and teach the public to consume less that would be effective to handle these obstacles and present positive outcomes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and make your position clear: recycling is useful, but it should be combined with reduced consumption and awareness campaigns. The aluminium-can example supports the benefits of recycling, while the plastic-bag example helps explain why prevention can be preferable. This meets the task well, and the position is clear in the introduction and conclusion. To develop the response further, explain the consequences of consuming less in more detail and make the comparison between the two approaches more precise. For example, the claim that recycling can “make more problems” is not fully explained, and the awareness campaigns are proposed without showing how they would change behaviour. More specific reasoning would strengthen the development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs discussing recycling and reduced consumption, and a conclusion. The contrast between the views is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help guide the reader. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several sentences begin with the same linking words, and some connections between ideas are unclear. For instance, “if we don not reduce our consumption just make the recycling system efficient” does not clearly express how the two actions relate. The recycling paragraph also shifts from environmental benefits to production costs without a smooth transition. Use fewer formulaic connectors and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “resources,” “production costs,” and “awareness campaigns,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “environmental hurdles.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision. Phrases such as “choosing the recycle,” “environmental problems are increasingly expanding,” and “recycling process could help” are not natural in this context. There are also word-form and spelling errors, including “wastes” where “waste” is intended and “don not.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main argument, but they make the writing less fluent. Build a bank of accurate environmental collocations and check word forms when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if we consume it mean less waste will create” and clauses introduced by “although” and “because.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but control is limited: complex sentences are often faulty, and errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “it help to make” needs subject–verb agreement, while “we should need to consume less” uses an incorrect modal construction. Several sentences join independent ideas with commas, making their structure difficult to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement and verb forms. More reliable control would make your reasoning easier to read.
