Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that recycling the waste is best way to clean environment, while others believe that by minimising the consuption of new products can maintain healtier environment . This essay will discuss both views before concluding that adaptation of both managing waste properly and less consumption will help to obtain healthy lifestyle.

On the one hand, waste recyclation provide beneficial outcomes. If all the used product face a recycling proccess, their demands would not be affected. managing the waste properly give a chance to use older products continously, and it helps to maintain the clean evironment. For instance, developed countries like UAE strictly recycle the used materials, instead of wastin them in any garbage, and made several new products using consumed products. Consequently socities who adap reuse techniques often have better environment and abundat new products. Therefore, it is necessary to manage garbage properly for both healthy environment and modern products.

On the other hand, minimising the utilization rate of products is the best approach for the evironment. If individuals use unnecessary procuts abuntantly, it will create a polluted environment and will increase the demand and prices of that product. Although it is necessary to use some products excessively, their altenatives can cover this whole and demands. for example in metropolitan areas usage of plastic bags are in high demand whcih damaged the natural environment, as it is non-degradeable. The alternative of this product coud be a cloth bag and some other modern technological instruments to carry the products. These measurements can reduce consumption rate of a product, an it coud be effective for environment.

In conclusion, although both the views can control environmental pollution, I firmly believe that adapting both the perspectives properly and making legislations will prove advantageous for obtaining pollution less environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and gives a clear overall position: the introduction and conclusion support combining recycling with reduced consumption. Relevant reasons and examples are included, particularly the discussion of plastic bags and cloth alternatives. This meets the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally clearly. The recycling paragraph claims that recycling keeps product supplies available and refers to the UAE, yet it does not explain the example in enough detail or show how recycling alone may fall short. The consumption paragraph offers a more concrete environmental consequence, but the point about prices is not developed. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms behind each claim and make the comparison between recycling and consuming less more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that returns to the writer’s position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the progression. However, some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although it is necessary to use some products excessively” does not clearly connect to the following point about alternatives, and “These measurements” refers imprecisely to the proposed changes. The recycling paragraph also moves from reuse to product availability without a fully explained link. Use more precise referencing and connect each example directly to the claim it supports to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “minimising,” “polluted environment,” “alternatives,” and “non-degradeable.” These choices show an attempt to discuss environmental issues beyond very basic terms. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: examples include “consuption,” “recyclation,” “abuntantly,” and “adap” for “adopt.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “obtain healthy lifestyle” and “pollution less environment.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A more precise vocabulary range would help express the ideas without requiring the reader to infer the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If individuals use unnecessary products…” and a concession beginning “Although…”. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “recycling the waste is best way” needs an article, while “waste recyclation provide” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “developed countries … recycle … and made several new products,” the verb forms do not match, and “usage of plastic bags are” has a singular–plural agreement error. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in the lowercase “managing” after a full stop. Review articles, agreement, and consistent verb forms, then proofread each sentence.
