Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is undeniable that a clean environment is essential for the existence of human being on earth .in this regard, although concern for the environment is growing and more and more people are choosing to recycle but few individuals believe that recycling is not enough they believe to consume less. this essay will be outlined not only both views but also my opinion in this notion in upcoming paragraph with logical conclusion.
To commence with, there are several points in the favor of recycling. the first and foremost is that recycling help individuals to reduce large amount of waste sent to landfills and lower demand for raw material . to elaborate, it help to save natural resources and to conserve environment. for instance by recycling paper ,people can avoid deforestation . Moreover, recycling plastic can help to reduce ocean pollution. secondly, recycling can reduce greenhouse gas mission. To elaborate it, fighting against climate changes and improve peoples way of living .for example by recycling plastic products which are non-biodegradeable such as can , bottles, cups, tyres which cannot dispose properly can effect our environment.
Nevertheless, despite it, some people argue recycling is not enough, they think excessive consumption is the main root cause of pollution . The prime one is energy and pollution costs. To justify it, recycling envolved collecting, sorting and melting down recyclable items result in excess burning fuels and create harmful emissions. for example if people keep buying excess goods the factries will produce more and more goods result in waste of products.
To conclude, although recycling play a vital role for conserving environment such as reduce waste, lower demand for raw material . yet, excessive production and consumption of resources cannot be neglected at any cost. According to me, both views are well and combining both ways of life could bring more positive impact on human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a personal position: the recycling paragraph explains reduced landfill waste and resource use, while the next paragraph argues that excessive consumption drives production and pollution. Your conclusion also supports combining the approaches. These relevant points meet the task, but they are not developed equally. The benefits of recycling include examples such as paper and plastic, whereas the case for consuming less is less fully explained; the point about recycling’s energy costs is introduced but not clearly connected to why reducing consumption is preferable. The position that both approaches should be used is present, though it could be stated more directly and supported with a specific example. The 16 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Nevertheless,” and “To conclude” help show the direction of the argument. The ideas within paragraphs are generally relevant, but some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “To elaborate it” is repeated, and “The prime one” does not clearly identify which point it refers to. The opening sentence also promises an outline rather than presenting the essay’s position. To strengthen progression, use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim, explanation, and example explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “landfills,” “raw material,” “deforestation,” “ocean pollution,” and “greenhouse gas emissions.” These terms help communicate the main environmental arguments, and you attempt more specific expressions such as “non-biodegradable.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “greenhouse gas mission,” “fighting against climate changes,” and “the main root cause.” Spelling errors such as “envolved,” “factries,” and “biodegradeable” also reduce precision. Aim to learn environmental vocabulary in natural combinations and check spelling carefully; this would make your ideas clearer and more fluent without requiring more complicated words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex forms, including a concessive opening (“although concern…”) and a conditional example (“if people keep buying…”). However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “recycling help individuals” needs subject–verb agreement, while “To elaborate, it help to save…” repeats the same issue. The opening sentence joins clauses awkwardly, and “To conclude, although recycling play…” is an incomplete concessive construction. Several sentences also run together without clear punctuation. Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then check verb agreement and punctuation before adding subordinate clauses.
