Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is undeniable that a clean environment is essential for survival of human beings on the earth. In this regards, in our nation more people are becoming aware for the environment and many of them are choosing to recycle but some thinks that recycling will not be enough as people have too consume less. This essay will not outline both views but also my opinion which is in favour of people who believes onwards recycling people have to consume less in forthcoming paragraphs with logical conclusion.

To commence with, there are several reasons of this notion. The prime one is that it is helpful in waste reduction. To explain it, there are several places in the country where a large amount of people disposes their home or any other type of waste on streets and busy road areas creating a mess for people wondering or passing from there. So, recycling will be beneficial as when people are going to recycle any material they usually picks or drags the waste from dumps or from busy streets and act as a cleaner by reducing the waste from the city. For example, if any company wants to make new plastic bottles they prefers to pick it up waste and reprocesses it through various steps and make it fresh for use. Secondly, it helps to provide employment. To elaborate it, when any company trying to recycle the materials they require a large number of people who is responsible to tackle out this process by arranging the waste materials and putting them into recycle process. For an instance, Government started one recycling scheme is past years which was responsible for generating employment opportunities.

However, there are some people who estimates people should not only depend on recycling as people must consume less. The first and foremost is that it includes high costs. To justify it, recycling includes identifying, sorting, melting and some other process which covers large cost and makes is less affordable. So, to save the environment from

pollution people must not depend on recycling because if they consume less it will generate less waste and it can helpful as there will be need for recycling or the people use things more if possible. For an epitome, people not paper bags when the use it because it can be used for many times.

To conclude, people can say that there are several benefits of notion like waste reduction and employment generation but recycling is costly process. According to me, recycling is successful only if the people consume in a average level because high consumption can occurs to large waste which charge recycling high cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You present a position in favour of reducing consumption alongside recycling, and you discuss reasons for both views. The points about recycling reducing waste and creating jobs, and about lower consumption reducing waste and costs, are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the employment example is vague (“Government started one recycling scheme”), while the paper-bag example is difficult to understand and does not clearly explain how it supports consuming less. Your position also shifts slightly: the introduction favours consuming less, but the conclusion says recycling succeeds when people consume “in a average level.” Explain more directly how the two approaches relate and support each main point with a clear, specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To commence with,” “However,” and “To conclude” helps readers identify the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are linked mechanically or the explanation is unclear. For instance, the move from recycling waste on streets to companies collecting plastic bottles is not fully connected, and the paper-bag example is hard to interpret. Some linking phrases, including “To explain it” and “To justify it,” are repeated without clarifying the relationship between claims. Use clearer topic sentences and make each example explicitly illustrate the point immediately before it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “waste reduction,” “employment opportunities,” “reprocesses,” and “consume less,” which helps communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “waste,” and “recycling,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “aware for the environment,” “wondering or passing,” “tackle out this process,” and “For an epitome.” These expressions do not sound natural in context. Build a more precise set of phrases for environmental impacts and recycling processes, and check collocations when using less familiar vocabulary. Prefer clear, accurate wording over formal-sounding expressions that do not fit.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “when,” “as,” and “because,” and you use paragraph-level sentence variety. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “many of them are choosing to recycle but some thinks” has an agreement error, while “people who believes” and “they usually picks” show similar problems. There are also errors in articles, verb forms, and sentence construction, as in “a average level” and “it can helpful.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and complete verb phrases, then revise longer sentences into clear clauses. More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your ideas easier to understand.
