Student answer (Band 6.0)
Environmental issue is the most alarming issue of this age as global warming and multiple other issues are interconnected with it.Some people are encouraging recycling whereas some people are of the view that recycling alone is not enough and consumerism shouls be reduced.
There are a lot of campaigns and social work socities and volunteers working in them for the preservation of the environment. As the global population is increasing rapidly the need for food and resources is increasing as well but resources are limited and saving this environent and resources is our responsibility.
People should recycle all the recycleable materials and this way alot of problems would see a visible decline however it is not possible to eradicate every issue relatd to environment but being responsible and recycling the recycleable material we can help save the environment. The biggest issue for environment right now is plastic because it does not decompose easily and results in devastating effects for nature as well as environment. It results in pollution and leads to widespread of harmful diseases.Plastic bottles and bags decomposed into sea and rivers results in death of fishes and marine creatures. So people should recycle all the recycleable material and this way a lot of harm could be saved.
On the other hand there is a view that recycling alone is not enough and we should consume less I personally believe this because knowledge about recycling things is not as easy to spread among the people and rural areas of the world moreover everything could not be recycled for a number of reasons and limited resources. Every individual should consider it their responsibility being a habitant of earth to save and help the environment and for this everyone should recycle all the recycleable material and consume as much as they need.
Nowadays people have started living more fancy and lavish life and this leads to consuming more than what is needed resulting in harm for the environment.e.g Making more furniture and wood items results in deforestation consuming more food and natural resuorces than needed is leading to extinction of natural resources as a simple rule we can understand it like this that resources are limited but consumerism seems to have no end so any way this is harmful for the environment.
While concluding i would say people need to be more informed and educated about sources, resources and their use moreover people should recycle as much as they can and consume just as much as they need.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear personal position: recycling can help, but reducing consumption is also necessary. The discussion of plastic bottles and bags harming marine life is relevant, while the point that not everything can be recycled supports your view that consumption must fall. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that recycling knowledge is difficult to spread, particularly in rural areas, would be stronger with an explanation or example. The discussion of “fancy and lavish” lifestyles and deforestation is relevant but broad, and the recycling argument repeats the same recommendation. Develop each view with a specific example and explain more clearly how it supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate discussion of recycling and reduced consumption, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main argument. You also use signposts such as “On the other hand” and “While concluding” to indicate shifts. However, some paragraphs contain several ideas joined into long, crowded sentences, so the relationships between claims are not always clear. The plastic example, for instance, moves from decomposition to pollution, disease, and marine deaths without clear sentence boundaries. There is also repetition of the recommendation to recycle recyclable materials. Use shorter sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and use referencing and linking phrases more selectively to make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “global warming,” “limited resources,” “deforestation,” “consumerism,” and “marine creatures.” These terms allow you to discuss the issue clearly, and some choices show an attempt to use more formal language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “environent,” “recycleable,” “relatd,” and “resuorces.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “widespread of harmful diseases” and “fancy and lavish life.” Repeated use of “environment,” “resources,” and “recycle” limits variety. Check spelling carefully, learn common collocations, and choose precise alternatives where possible; this will make the argument sound more fluent and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “whereas,” and “as,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentences are overloaded and contain grammatical and punctuation problems. For example, “Plastic bottles and bags decomposed into sea and rivers results in death…” has an unclear subject–verb relationship, while “resources are limited but consumerism seems to have no end so any way this is harmful” needs clearer clause boundaries and punctuation. There are also missing articles and inconsistent sentence punctuation, as in “Environmental issue is the most alarming issue.” Separate long sentences, check subject–verb agreement and article use, and proofread punctuation. More accurate control of these structures would make your ideas easier to follow.
