Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response recognises the topic and begins to address the environmental impact of recycling, but it does not adequately discuss both views or give a developed opinion. The opening says that “consume less” may be the best solution, then shifts to the claim that “the recycling decrease was the cause,” leaving your position unclear. The paragraph beginning “On the one hand” gives a general point about pollution and health, but it does not explain why people should consume less or provide a complete, relevant example. The response also ends mid-sentence (“when people consume incr”), so the argument is incomplete. The stated minimum length is not met. To improve, explain each view, state your own position clearly, and support the points with specific reasoning and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory statement is followed by a paragraph signalled with “On the one hand,” and “In addition” introduces another point. These markers show an awareness of how to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the opening moves between recycling and consuming less without clarifying their relationship, and the body paragraph does not develop a complete line of reasoning. The response ends abruptly, which leaves the reader without a conclusion or a clear overall structure. Build separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and use linking phrases to show how each reason supports the main point rather than relying mainly on simple transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling,” “environment pollution,” “consume less,” and “people health,” so the subject is recognisable. There is also an effort to use less basic phrasing such as “effect indirectly.” However, frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts of the response difficult to understand, for example “increasely,” “commun debated essue,” “prespective,” and “envrironemnt.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “growth of the environment” and “recycling performance.” These issues limit the precision and control of your vocabulary. Focus on accurate spelling and common environmental collocations, such as “environmental concerns,” “recycling rates,” and “reduce consumption,” before attempting more complex expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “while some individuals argue…” and another using “In addition.” This shows some effort to connect clauses, but control is inconsistent. For example, “recycling are not” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “that consume less are the best solution” does not use a grammatical clause structure. The opening sentence also joins several ideas with commas, making the relationships between clauses unclear. The final sentence is incomplete, so its structure cannot be followed. Practise forming complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, checking agreement and clause boundaries, and using full stops to separate ideas. More accurate basic structures will make your argument easier to understand.
