Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many environmental concerns are rising due to several reasons. Many individual assumed that recycling is better option for reducing. While some people believe that's not enough we need implementation to control the environmental challenges. From my perspective, i believe strict implementations and policies can bring changes for controlling.

To start with, in recent years environment issues cover a vast concerns of a system. People is more dependent on latest technologies that cause several issues. For instance, people prefer their personal transport as compare to public transport. That leaves a huge pressure on every individual to use own transport. In contrast, public transport is more convenient for everyone. It reduces pollution and fuel costs and much more. In addition, many individuals has lack of awareness about public places. In developed countries, recycling is well known procedure and government paid to every individual as a reward of recycling. But, in different regions of world many residents are unaware to the process of recycling. Moreover, its a example of developing countries. Moreover, from this process people can control several types of diseases such as contagious diseases like cough. Waterborne diseases are widespread but from recycling it can controlled.

On the other hand, Some governments are banning using vast use of plastic bags, bottles and this is having positive impact on the nature. From my opinion, I think both measures should be adopted equally. The one time use items such as polymer tissue, bags, or bottles could be replaced by cotton clothes, reusable cotton or jute bags and stainless steel bottles. Since the current research also backs these aspects by proving microplastics in our bloodstream and inner organs. The nuclear and solar energy could reign over the use of organic fuels slowly reducing their impact in the nature. During the covid-19 pandemic, when people were living mostly at homes, we saw the natural changes of reduced use of these goods on our surroundings. However, recycling and reuse of medical items should be strictly monitored and discouraged as these can bring disasters impact

Overall, I believe both views are well and combining both ways of life could bring more positive impact on human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both recycling and reducing consumption, and your opinion that both measures should be used is stated clearly near the end. The suggestions to replace disposable bags and bottles with reusable alternatives, and to shift towards solar energy, are relevant and show engagement with the environmental issue. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the first body paragraph focuses substantially on transport and public awareness rather than explaining the limits of recycling, while the link between recycling and preventing diseases is unclear. The second view—consuming less—is more directly supported, but the pandemic example is not explained in enough detail to show how it supports your argument. Develop each view with a clear reason and a specific, relevant example, and maintain your position consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two main body sections and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. You also use signposts such as “To start with,” “On the other hand” and “Overall.” However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from transport to recycling awareness and then to disease without clearly connecting these points. Repeated transitions such as “Moreover” do not always show the relationship between ideas, and references such as “this process” are unclear. The conclusion repeats the view that both approaches matter but does not draw together the reasons. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it, using linking phrases and references only where their meaning is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “microplastics,” “renewable” energy concepts, “contagious diseases” and “reusable.” These choices show an attempt to discuss environmental issues beyond basic terms, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “vast concerns of a system,” “paid to every individual as a reward of recycling,” and “bring disasters impact.” Some expressions are also imprecise, including “latest technologies” where the intended environmental effect is not specified. Aim for natural combinations and precise wording, for example, “offer residents incentives to recycle” and “have a damaging impact.” Proofreading for word forms and possessives would also improve control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “While,” “Since” and “when,” and some sentences communicate your ideas clearly. However, errors occur frequently across the response and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “Many individual assumed,” “People is more dependent,” and “many individuals has,” which show problems with agreement and verb forms. Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “recycling is better option” and “it can controlled.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention too, including the lowercase “i” and the comma splice in “Since the current research also backs these aspects by proving microplastics in our bloodstream and inner organs.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build complex sentences and check each for a complete, correctly formed structure.
