Student answer (Band 5.0)

Today i would like to talk about what people choose recycle or consume less.

Today some people say recycle is enough. But some people say recycle is not enough and they believe we need to consume less.

Now i will tell you the both opinion of peoples with explanation.

First i talk about such peoples whose choose recycle.People say recycle is better for trees and many other things we dont waste anything we recycle it and again use it. They say right if we recycle the things like paper and bottles and plastic bags and many other things so we save the trees. For Example: If we recycle the bottles and papers and plastic bags so we save the trees and the environment.

Now i talk about such peoples whose say recycle is not enough and they say we need to consume less. They say recycle is not enough because the dirt is flew every where and garbage is lay on the road. And the environment is making bd effects so if we consume less so we donot need to recycle. For Example: If we consume less bottles plastic bags and papers so it will enouI

In my opinin consuming less is more important becausse in Pakistan it is very common to waste many bottles in a day and waste many papers and plastic bags we need to use bottle again and no buy more bottles and we need to use cloth bags.

In conclusion, recycling help environment but it not enough alone. We should also consume left to protect environmnt. If peoples do both the environment will be more clean.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear opinion: you explain why recycling is considered useful, then argue that consuming less is more important, with examples involving bottles, paper and cloth bags in Pakistan. This makes the response relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The recycling paragraph repeats that materials can be reused and trees saved, while the opposing view relies on unclear claims such as “the dirt is flew every where” rather than explaining how reducing consumption prevents waste or resource use. Your example about using a bottle again supports your position, but needs fuller explanation. Develop each view with a distinct reason and a specific, clearly explained example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and linking is often mechanical. Repeated openings such as “Now i will tell you” and “Now i talk about” make the organisation sound formulaic, while “For Example” introduces points that largely repeat the preceding sentence. Some connections are unclear, particularly the move from litter being present to the claim that consuming less means recycling is unnecessary. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and illustrate it; vary linking expressions and make cause-and-effect relationships explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “recycle,” “environment,” “garbage,” “plastic bags,” and “consume less,” so the main subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the dirt is flew every where” and “consume left” do not express the intended ideas clearly; “bd effects” also appears to be an inaccurate or incomplete phrase. Spelling and word-form errors such as “opin in,” “becausse,” and “environmnt” further weaken clarity. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases—such as “reduce waste,” “landfill,” and “single-use packaging”—and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple patterns, and you attempt some longer structures with “because” and “if,” for example, “They say recycle is not enough because…” and “If we recycle… so we save the trees.” These attempts show an effort to connect ideas, but the structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand the message. Examples include missing articles and infinitives in “choose recycle,” incorrect verb forms in “the dirt is flew,” and agreement or auxiliary problems in “recycling help environment” and “it not enough alone.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially where several ideas run together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete conditional sentences before adding more complex structures.
