Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response shows awareness of the topic and begins to introduce both recycling and reduced consumption, but it does not adequately discuss both views or give a developed opinion. The claim that recycling can be harmful is relevant, yet it is not explained or supported with an example. The sentence beginning “recycling is one of most beneficial way” starts a reason in favour of recycling but ends unfinished, so the argument cannot be followed. The position that people should “utilized less things” is also unclear and unsupported. The response is substantially below the required minimum length, which leaves the task largely incomplete. To improve, address each view in a separate developed paragraph, explain your own position clearly, and support points with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph introduces the issue, and “To commence with” signals the start of a supporting point. These markers give the reader some indication of direction. However, the ideas are not arranged into a complete argument, and the response stops midway through a sentence, preventing logical progression. The opening also moves abruptly from the general topic to the writer’s opinion without clearly distinguishing the two views. Some linking phrases, such as “Although,” do not connect complete ideas effectively. Use clear paragraphs for the recycling view, the reduced-consumption view, and your conclusion; then connect each point with accurate, purposeful transitions and complete sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response attempts a range of topic-related and formal vocabulary, including “contemporary era,” “preserving our environment,” and “recycling process.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes the meaning less clear: “fear for the environment” does not express growing concern, and “masses” is an unsuitable way to refer to people in this context. There are also spelling errors in “incontrovertable” and “perespective,” while “utilized less” is an awkward expression for consuming less. The vocabulary is sufficient to identify the general topic, but precision and natural collocation are inconsistent. Prefer straightforward, accurate phrases such as “concern about the environment,” “many people,” and “reduce consumption,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a clause beginning “Although” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and the unfinished sentence after “because when individuals” shows that complex structures are not yet completed reliably. There are errors in verb forms and sentence construction, such as “fear for the environment is significantly rose” and “we need to utilized less.” Articles and agreement are also problematic in “one of most beneficial way.” Capitalisation and spacing after punctuation need attention as well. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check verb patterns after modal verbs (“need to use”) and articles before singular countable nouns (“one of the most beneficial ways”).
