Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response recognises both views: recycling is presented as useful, while the second body paragraph refers to the belief that people should consume less. It also gives a personal view, calling the latter “a pretty good idea.” However, the discussion does not clearly explain either position or develop reasons and relevant examples; phrases such as “replace the something new” and “utilize evidence” do not establish a clear argument. The conclusion says the choice depends on what people choose, so the writer’s position remains uncertain. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain how recycling helps and why reducing consumption may have a greater effect, then support each point with a specific example and state a consistent opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a recognisable overall shape, with an introduction, two body sections and a conclusion. Labels such as “Example 1” and “Example 2,” along with “In other hand” and “So,” signal movement between sections. However, the ideas within paragraphs are not arranged in a clear sequence, and several sentences do not connect logically to the task. For example, “the environment depends on peoples voting behaves” is not linked to the point about recycling. Connectors such as “Also,” “Because” and “so” are repeated or used awkwardly, while references such as “this” and “it” are often unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main view, explain it, and then give a relevant example; use linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “environment,” “recycle,” “development system” and “socialites,” and attempts to express ideas about benefits and future effects. However, the range is limited and many word choices or combinations are inaccurate, making the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “pretty good knowledge about the places,” “very important affectable rules” and “a better benefits.” The repeated use of “people,” “environment” and “important” also limits flexibility. Build a more precise set of terms for the topic, such as “reduce consumption,” “waste,” “natural resources” and “environmental impact,” and check that words form natural combinations. This would make the argument clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts at both short statements and longer sentences, including the conditional structure “when people replace the something new it will be helpful.” However, sentence boundaries and clause structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make the meaning hard to interpret. For example, “Because people Find a good environment in every situation” is an incomplete sentence, while “people are also get a better benefits” combines incompatible verb forms and has agreement problems. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “and i” and the spacing before full stops. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check verb forms, articles, plurals and punctuation. Use a few accurate complex sentences to explain cause and effect rather than joining several unclear ideas together.
