Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify the topic of recycling and consumption, and the phrase “I believe” signals an attempt to give your own view. However, the response does not explain both sides of the discussion: it gives no developed reason for recycling and only briefly suggests that consuming less is a decision. The point about environmental problems and recycling bottles and glass is difficult to interpret and is not supported with a relevant example. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough content to address the task fully. To improve, state your position clearly, explain the benefits and limits of recycling, then develop why reducing consumption may help, using specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0
There is a basic attempt to connect ideas, including “but” to introduce a contrast and “because” to give a reason. These links show awareness that the essay needs to relate the two views. However, the response is a single short, largely unstructured paragraph, with no clear progression from the recycling view to the argument for consuming less and then to a conclusion. Several ideas run together, as in “the environment problem are becoming in increase,” making the relationship between claims unclear. Organise the response into paragraphs, each with one main purpose, and use clear topic sentences and references. Build each point in sequence rather than relying on a few repeated linking words.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, such as “environment,” “recycling,” “plastic,” “bottle,” and “glass,” so the general subject can be recognised. However, the range is very limited, and several word choices or forms make the intended meaning unclear, including “in this veiw consume less are some decision” and “this is convict.” There are also spelling errors such as “enviroment” and “chossing.” These issues restrict precision and make it difficult to express the two positions. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases, such as “reduce consumption,” “recycle household waste,” and “conserve natural resources,” and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a few sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “but.” This shows some effort to connect clauses rather than relying only on isolated statements. However, control is inconsistent: “more people are chossing to recycling” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “recycling are not enough” shows a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “In the one reason” is also incomplete or poorly formed, and punctuation and capitalisation are unreliable, including the lowercase “but” after a full stop. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check verb forms, agreement, sentence boundaries, and capital letters during revision.
