Student answer (Band 5.0)
An increasing number of people is concern about environmental health that's why they put more focus on recycling while others believe that only recycling is not enough, people need to decrease their intakes. I strongly believe that recycle is better choice to make environment clean because people can be benefited by a product in many ways.
On the one hand, using one product in many ways can control on people buying unnecessary stuffs because people can have different kind of products benefit by using only one product and this can help people spending less money. By spending less money, public will feel more interest in recycling and this can be very good for environment since people will use a plastic bottle not only for drinking but also as a crafting item. Using a plastic bottle in different ways can improve the effectiveness of soil.
On the other hand, consume less can make people health better as well as environment, such as consume less cigarattes can make less risk of their heart dieases and make less bad emissions on air. This way any indiviuals can protect the air to be polluted.
In conclusion, I believe that recycling can be a very good option to protect us from environmental issues and this way people will be more fascinating about recycling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You present a clear preference for recycling, and you include points about both recycling and consuming less. However, the discussion only partially answers the question: the recycling paragraph focuses on reusing one product and saving money, rather than explaining recycling itself, while the consumption paragraph gives a brief health example but little explanation of how reduced consumption benefits the environment. Your opinion that recycling is the better choice is stated, but it is not fully supported or compared with the alternative. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, which limits the opportunity to develop relevant reasons and examples. Explain both views directly and support your position with specific environmental evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the basic organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, the link between spending less money, becoming more interested in recycling, and improving soil through bottle reuse is not explained. The conclusion repeats the preference for recycling without drawing together the two arguments. Use clearer links between each claim and its consequence, and develop each paragraph around one central point. More precise referencing would also help readers see how examples support your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling,” “environment,” “emissions,” and “polluted,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “environmental health,” “decrease their intakes,” “different kind of products benefit,” and “improve the effectiveness of soil.” Spelling errors such as “cigarattes,” “dieases,” and “indiviuals” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow, particularly in the first body paragraph. Build a more precise set of environmental terms and check spelling, word forms, and natural combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “while.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “An increasing number of people is concern,” where the verb form and agreement are incorrect, and “people can be benefited,” which uses an unsuitable passive construction. The sentence beginning “On the one hand” also has unclear grammatical relationships between its clauses. Articles, plurals, and verb forms need more consistent control. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clearly formed supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb patterns.
