Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a position—“I agree this statement”—and include points related to both recycling and reducing consumption, such as using paper bags instead of plastic. However, the discussion does not clearly explain the two views as distinct arguments. The first body paragraph is difficult to interpret: the point about wastewater being put “into the all trees” does not clearly support the case for recycling. Your opinion also shifts or remains unclear, since the conclusion says people should reuse plastic items rather than clearly stating whether consuming less is more important than recycling. Examples are present, but their relevance and explanation are limited. To strengthen the response, explain each view accurately, develop one or two relevant reasons, and give a consistent, explicit conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Moving further ahead” and “In conclusion” show an attempt to organise the discussion. However, the progression between ideas is often unclear, and the paragraphs do not consistently distinguish the two sides of the question. For example, the first paragraph moves from plastic use to wastewater without a clear link, while the second repeats the idea that plastic consumption should be reduced. Connect each example directly to its main point and use paragraph topics that identify the view being discussed. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically; clearer relationships between claims and examples would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycle,” “plastic,” “paper bag,” “consume” and “environment,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “many people,” “plastic item” and “harm item.” Inaccurate word choice and spelling sometimes make meaning difficult to understand, as in “resident people,” “anotheer product” and “peotect the surrounding environment.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “consume benefical item” and “less order food.” Build a more precise set of environmental terms and check common collocations. For instance, distinguish between reducing consumption, reusing products and recycling materials rather than using these ideas interchangeably.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if they use small amount of plastic … then they recycle.” This shows some willingness to vary sentence forms, and the overall meaning can often be inferred. However, complex sentences are frequently faulty, with problems in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “many resident believe” lacks plural agreement, and “people are choosing to recycle are not enough” has an incomplete structure. In “it help to protect,” the verb does not agree with its subject. Punctuation and spacing around commas are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each clause for a clear subject and verb.
