Student answer (Band 5.0)
People are concern about the environment is growing for this reason they are choosing to recycle. But some people suggest that we need to consume less rather than recycling. I agreed both of these topic. We need to recycle our waste and consume less.
In these days, people are not concern about environment. They thew so many things in outside and the environment is polluted. For this reason they were choosing recycle to maintain the environment. They use a product and didn't throw it outside. People put these things in their house to use it for another work. Its very workful process because it can save our money and our environment condition keep it good. Like we use a bottle of water, after finishing the water we can use this bottle again. We can refill the bottle and use it day by day.
We bought so many things that didn't need us. After that we left behind and never use it. We need avoid this type of behaviour because it can help us to consume less money and our waste is not growing. Its the best way to avoid who are not concren about their habit. Less proudct buying doesn't mean your are poor, its a smart decision. If we bought few product daily, we will not waste our items.
In conclusion, everyone should avoid to buy more prouct. They need to focus what item they needed or what not. Its the best way to maintain our environment and also we can save our money for our future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear, though brief, opinion that both recycling and consuming less are needed, and you include relevant examples such as reusing a water bottle and avoiding unnecessary purchases. However, the discussion of recycling is mostly about reusing items, and the two views are not explored in balanced depth; several claims, such as recycling being “workful,” are not clearly explained. The conclusion repeats the recommendation rather than drawing together the discussion. The response also contains 249 words, one word below the required minimum, and the nine words copied from the task prompt are not counted. To address the task more fully, explain the benefits and limits of recycling, develop the case for reducing consumption, and support each with specific reasoning or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on recycling and consumption, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two main topics. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and links between ideas are often mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “For this reason” and “After that.” Some references are difficult to follow, as in “They thew so many things in outside” and “Its the best way to avoid who are not concren about their habit.” Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports. More precise referencing and a wider range of linking expressions would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “recycle,” “environment,” “waste,” and “consume less,” and the bottle example communicates a practical idea. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spellings make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “workful process,” “Less proudct buying,” and “not concren about their habit.” Repetition of “things,” “product,” and “environment” also limits precision. Build a topic-specific vocabulary for waste reduction and recycling, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For instance, describe items as “reusable” or “unnecessary purchases” rather than relying on general words such as “things.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, and the main message is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, including in basic sentence construction and verb forms. The opening, “People are concern about the environment is growing,” combines incompatible structures; “I agreed both of these topic” has problems with tense and number; and “If we bought few product daily, we will not waste our items” does not maintain a consistent conditional form. Articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking that subjects and verbs agree and that verb tenses remain consistent.
