Student answer (Band 6.0)
People have different opinions about whether bio-diversity is growing and individuals are choosing more things to recycles, while other believe that the only recycling is enough and we have to also reduce the use of things. While both perspective of their own merits and demerits. I believe that recycling is good for enviroment but that is not sufficient and we have to take some action such as use things that is biodegradable. This essay will examine both the views before explaining my position.
On the one hand some people believe that enviroment is progressing and people are using more recycle things. The main reason for this is that individuals are now more aware about the things that are hazardous to nature such as polymer it will take so many year to compose and if burn it, it contains chemical that should be spread in air. So instead of throwing that they are deciding to use those plastic by recycling it. As a result, the plastic waste will be reduce and the pollution that happens through plastic burning is also be minimize.
On other hand, others believe that it is insuffient to only rely on recycling instead we have to also reduce less things. One major advantage of this approach is that if used things less things such as plastic bag are not always necessary eventually the waste is going to minimize. For instance, many shopping mall and shops provide plastic carry bags and wraping instead they have use eco-friendly things to less amount of polymer things. I find this argument more convincing because we have so many alternatives such as instead of plastic bags we can use paper or cloth bags that are not harm nature and it will not going to stop the progess in enviroment.
In conclusion, although peoples are using recyclable things to save any damages to mother nature, I believe that using less things or using alternatives will give more benifits to save nature, because those things does harm enviroment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and make your own position clear: recycling helps, but reducing consumption and choosing alternatives are more effective. The discussion of plastic waste and the example of replacing shopping bags with paper or cloth are relevant. However, the first view is not always represented accurately: the prompt concerns whether recycling is enough, whereas the opening says “bio-diversity is growing” and later suggests the environment is “progressing.” Some points also need fuller explanation, such as how recycling reduces pollution and why consuming less has broader benefits. Develop each view with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from recycling to reducing consumption is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, the linking can feel formulaic, and some connections between sentences are unclear—for example, the opening moves from biodiversity to recycling without a clear logical link. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph’s main point explicit and using pronouns and transitions only when their references are clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “hazardous,” “pollution,” “recycling,” and “eco-friendly.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “plastic waste” and “alternatives.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, form, and spelling errors make expression imprecise: “bio-diversity” does not convey the task’s topic, “compose” is used where “decompose” is intended, and “insuffient,” “wraping,” and “benifits” are misspelled. Phrases such as “reduce less things” and “save any damages” are also unclear. Build accuracy by learning common environmental collocations and checking spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “While both perspective of their own merits and demerits” and a reason clause beginning “The main reason for this is that…”. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or incomplete. For example, “While both perspective…” is a fragment, while “the waste will be reduce” and “it will not going to stop” show problems with verb forms. Agreement and sentence construction also need attention in “those things does harm” and “if burn it.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise complete sentence patterns and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
