Student answer (Band 5.0)

It has long been debate over whether recycle is beneficial for the environment. While recycle helps to use the products wisely such as plastic and paper bags, many people think we should consume less. I firmly believe that recycling has not only good effects but also has its bad effects. This essay will examine both perspectives before concluding that a balanced approach is the most beneficial.

One the one hand, people are chosing recycle because it stops byuying unnecessary stuffs along with saves money. Additionally, when people recyle the products, it ensure that they find it usefull. However, using a stuff for many times is quite beneficial for environment. Because it wil reduce the quantity of wastages.

On the other hand, favor on comusume less products, they think recyclily or reuse is not enough. Furthermore, it effects on environment because after few times of using the products will turn into wasteages. Therefore, they concern about recyling. I believe the concern is logicable. Moreover, if people start to consume less, it will turn into a biggest benefit. For example, when individuals consume less, the factory will make less product and wasteages will be counted. As a result, people may not have to face environmental issues in future.

In conclusion, I must say that we have to make a balanced routine for our environment, because we have both perspectives over here. Therefore, a balanced

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify both views and state a general position in favour of balance, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the first body paragraph focuses on recycling and reusing products, but does not clearly explain the view that people should consume less. The second paragraph gives a reason for reducing consumption—factories would make fewer products—but this point is brief and the example is not developed. The claim that recycling has “bad effects” is introduced but never explained, which also makes your position less clear. The response is below the required 250 words, so there is limited space to develop the arguments. Explain each view directly and support it with a specific, fully explained example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion, which gives it some basic organisation. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “Furthermore,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear: the first body paragraph moves from recycling to saving money and then to reusing items without explaining how these points connect to the question of consuming less. Some links are also inaccurate or repetitive, and the conclusion ends abruptly with “Therefore, a balanced”. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main argument, connect each supporting point explicitly, and complete the final sentence so the essay has a clear ending.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “products,” “environment,” “factory,” and “consume less,” and the reader can generally identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, word-form, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “unnecessary stuffs,” “wastages,” “favor on comusume less products,” and “logicable.” Repetition of “products” and “environment” also limits precision. Build a small set of accurate expressions for this topic, such as “reduce consumption,” “household waste,” and “manufacture fewer goods,” and check spelling and whether nouns are countable before using them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few complex structures, including “While…” and “because…,” and use future forms to describe possible outcomes. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, sometimes making the intended meaning unclear. For example, “It has long been debate over whether recycle is beneficial” is missing grammatical elements, while “it ensure that they find it usefull” has subject–verb agreement problems. “One the one hand” and “Because it wil reduce…” also show difficulties with articles, spelling aside, and sentence boundaries. Practise accurate simple clauses first, then combine them with subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and whether a dependent clause is attached to a complete sentence.
