Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, there is great concern about the environment pollution all around the world. Some individuals have opinion that we should select the method of recycling to overcome environmental issues because it keep environment safe and clean. But others believe that we have to minimise our consumption as it is more convient and economical. The essay will discuss the both views with suitable examples and a logical conclusion with my opinion that less consumption is better than totlly depand on recycling to save environment.

To keep environment safe and clean, the recycling is best way.Recycling process remove the waste from cities, as waste materials are collected on specific places and transported by particular trucks to the desiganated places for recycling, it protect environment from many communicable health issues.Because, comulated waste is the house of many pathogenic organisms which can spread multiple disease l7ike water born and air born diseases. For example, tuberculosis is a air born disease which can spread by polluted air in dirty and dusty areas.

Less consumption is more beneficial in some extent than reclye because it is more economical and convient. As well said that ''prevention is better than cure''. When the production of waste will dicrease, the negative effects will automatic come down. In this high infalation periods, we can save money also if we use reuseable items and produce less waste as well as less pollution. For instance, if a restaurent use reuseable utensils or boxs , it get bebefits from both side as it pay price of utensil only one time and again less waste leade to clean and safe environment.

In conclusion, as recycling is good option to overcome environmental issues, but the control consumption of items is best way to reduce and erdi

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for reducing consumption, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The recycling paragraph gives a reason and an example, while the consumption paragraph explains possible savings for businesses and reduced waste. However, the discussion is only partly developed: recycling is mainly linked to removing waste from cities and preventing disease, rather than explaining how recycling conserves resources or reduces pollution. The claim that consuming less is “more convenient and economical” also needs fuller explanation, and the final sentence is incomplete, so your conclusion does not clearly finish the comparison. Develop each view with a direct link to environmental benefits, then restate your position in a complete concluding sentence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your argument. You also use basic linking expressions such as “But,” “For example,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the recycling discussion moves from waste collection to communicable diseases and then tuberculosis without clearly showing how this supports recycling itself. Some links are mechanical or awkward, including “Because” beginning a sentence and “as well as” joining ideas without a clear relationship. The conclusion is cut off, weakening the overall sense of completion. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the connection between each example and your main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “consumption,” “pathogenic organisms,” and “reusable items,” and you attempt to express ideas about pollution, health, and cost. This gives you a minimally adequate range for the topic. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, for example “convient,” “desiganated,” “comulated,” and “erdi.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “select the method of recycling” and “control consumption of items.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise environmental terms, such as “reduce landfill waste” or “conserve raw materials,” would help you explain the arguments more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “as,” and “if,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “it keep environment safe” has subject–verb agreement and article problems, while “the negative effects will automatic come down” has an incorrect adverb form and an unclear verb construction. The sentence beginning “Recycling process remove…” also contains agreement errors and becomes difficult to follow as several clauses are joined together. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and a comma splice in the recycling paragraph. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine ideas using accurate subordinate clauses and check articles, agreement, and verb forms.
