Student answer (Band 5.5)
in the above chart initially, we can see the number of adults whose parents spoke habitually their regional language with them and how many parents used to speak occasionally. the chart shows only few numbers of languages have a greater number of adults which spoke habitually its regional language rather number of adults who occasionally experience their parent speaking the regional languages are greater, such as Alsatian and Creole are the only languages which parents spoke habitually, and rest of the dialect is used more on occasionally basis.
when we corelate this above data of adults how often and habitually, they had experience with their parents speaking regional language it shows the impact of this behavior in their children lives which is present in the table below where the data shows the number of adults who used their regional language which their kid as well. the below table's data shows us the number of adults which parents used their languages more habitually are transferring the language to its children as well in comparison to those adults who experience their parent speaking only on occasional basis.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to adequately address the task requirements. While it mentions the charts, it does not provide any specific data points, figures, or trends from the provided visual information. Instead, it offers a vague, descriptive summary that lacks the necessary analytical detail required for an Academic Task 1 report. To achieve a higher band, you must select and report key features, including specific numbers (in thousands) and meaningful comparisons between the languages. The current response is too general and does not allow the reader to understand the actual information presented in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into two paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'when we corelate this above data'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the connection between the two charts. The writing lacks a clear overview, which is essential for a high-scoring Task 1 response. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, distinct focus that contributes to the overall report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'rest of the dialect is used more on occasionally basis' and 'which their kid as well'. The range is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To improve, you should learn collocations related to data description, such as 'a significant proportion', 'habitually spoken', or 'a downward trend'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise terms for describing statistics will significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('rest of the dialect is used'), incorrect preposition usage ('on occasionally basis'), and awkward sentence structures. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are often faulty or poorly constructed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring correct verb forms. Proofreading for common errors like pluralization and article usage will also help increase your accuracy.
