The charts below show the number of French adults whose parents spoke a French regional language to them when they were children and the number who speak a French regional language to their own children.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The horizontal bar chart illustrates the comparison of French regional languages for two different conditions, one is the number of adults whose parents spoke a regional language to them in childhood and the other describes the number of adults who speak a regional language to their children.

Overall there are five different regional languages to be spoken by French individuals, languages were usually spoken occasionally as well as habitually when these adults were experiencing their childhood. Occitan was recognized as the most preferable language before, as of now adults prioritize Alsatian as the most spoken language to their children. In contrast, Corsican is among the least spoken language in both the eras.

The scenario when parents of these adults chose to speak a regional language was quite interesting, Occitan was both habitually and occasionally spoken as the most popular with 600 thousand and above 1 million respectively, whereas Corsican was the least in both conditions with 100 thousand peoples each. Creole was also the same but as the second lowest spoken with approximately more than 100 in both the conditions. Alsatian and Breton were interesting comparatively, as Alsatian was secondly used in habitual speaking with 600 and third when occasionally with 250, whereas Breton was second when occasionally accounted with 400 and third when habitually speaking accounted with 250 thousand peoples.

Coming to the number of adults who speak a regional language to their own children, Alsatian emerged as the more prioritized with 400, while the second and third are Occitan and Breton with 250 and 90 respectively. Creole and Corsican were among the lowest with 80 and 50 thousand peoples.
