The charts below show the number of French adults whose parents spoke a French regional language to them when they were children and the number who speak a French regional language to their own children.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The bar charts demonstrate the number of french matured people whose parents spoke 5 french dialects to them in their childhood and who speak 5 french dialects to their offsprings figured in thousand.

Overall, Occitan was used by the most of the parents of the adult people when they were child in both habitually and occasionally. Alsatian is now used largely by the adults to speak with their children whereas corsican is the least in use for both previus and present case.

In detail, there are 600 thousand 1.1 milion people whose parents occasionally and habitually spoke Occitan language to them in the past. Almost 800 thousand adults were spoken Alsatian by their parents. However other three languages were less frequently spoken among which Corsian was the least in the case of adults parental use.

Adults speak Alsatian language to their babies in the most of the cases. Then Occitan comes to the bucket list of preference of speaking by adults. However Breton,Creole, Corsican are also in the lower postion in terms of usage where Corsican in the lowest position.
