The charts depict the information about the French adults whose parents spoke a French regional language ( Alsatian, Occitan, Breton, Creole, and Corsican) to them in their childhood while some spoke a French regional language self.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the data but fails to provide a clear or accurate overview. The information is presented in a fragmented manner, and the data points are often confusing or incorrectly stated (e.g., '900,000' for Breton, which is not supported by the charts). The report lacks a coherent summary of the main trends, and the distinction between the two charts is poorly articulated. The data is presented in a way that is difficult to follow, and the lack of precision in reporting the figures significantly hinders the reader's understanding of the information provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. Cohesive devices are used, but often incorrectly or in a repetitive way (e.g., 'In the first chart', 'On the other hand', 'Overall'). The referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to determine which data point the student is referring to. The transition between the two charts is abrupt, and the lack of clear signposting makes the overall structure feel disjointed and difficult to navigate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'the figure of adults number was' and 'used the languages... to their own' are awkward and demonstrate a lack of control over collocation. There is a reliance on basic vocabulary, and the attempt to use more specific terms is hampered by grammatical errors and imprecise word choice. The repetition of 'number of adults' and 'regional language' suggests a restricted vocabulary range that struggles to convey the data effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the used of the Alsatian language had been highest'), incorrect tense usage, and awkward sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of parentheses and commas. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. The majority of sentences contain errors, which prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score.
