The charts below show the number of French adults whose parents spoke a French regional language to them when they were children and the number who speak a French regional language to their own children.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The charts delineate the French adults number whose parents spoke a French regional language to them when they were children and the number who speak a French regional language to their own children.

Overall, Occitan language was the most popular when speaking occasionally whereas Creole and Corsican recorded the lowest figures. Habitually, the pattern for adults listening to their parents talking and adults speaking to their children are similar where Aisatian and Occitan were the most common and the rest on the least category.

In terms of people who listened their guardian talking regional language in their childhood, it was habitually 600 thousands for Aisatian and Occitan compared with just 300 thousands and almost 1.2 million respectively for speaking in occasional purposes. In case of Breton, although nearly 300 thousands people spoken habitually, it was 100 thousands more with occasional speaking. However, in both categories, Creole and Corsican were significantly less with less than or equal of 100 thousands only.

Among speakers who speak these languages to their children, Aisatian was on the highest position with 400 thousands speakers followed by Occitan with around 250 thousands and Breton, Creole and Corscian which were below 100 thousands.
