Student answer (Band 4.5)

In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did back in life. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have present is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure but the concept of suffering from stress did not exist. I will dscuss both view and give my honest oponion. In our socity stress is the main problem from the previous period. It is produce from the people regret and something wrong, which they did in the past. Many people go under the money problem and family. For example, a man who tried to something usefull than his back in life but he doesn't how to start and where the start. Eventually he started the proccess. During the journey he has made a plenty of mistakes. That's why he gave up beacuse he thoughts that he failed as a dreamer. For main reasons is that he dosen't found the problem where he faces difficulties. As a result he lost hope and couldn't reached his goals. At the moment he has nothing without regret. I think that's the major problem in some societies. In contrast, in our socity other people feel that the amount of stress, which already people have today is exaggerated. They say that past generations were under more pressure, but their idea of suffering from stress did not exist. Previous generations were hard working and creative thinking proccess. While nowadays generation is very hard working beacuse the world has changed significantly. There is not much feld to work hard. Maximum todays gen-z think i won't be sucessced in life beacuse they do not want try. They just think. That's reason they feel havey and stress. In conclusion, think about previous something wrong and compare with prerious generation it's just waste of time. In my opinion they have to learn form the past and don't compare with someone or generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce the topic and attempt to discuss both views, then give a personal conclusion. However, the discussion only minimally addresses the question: the first body paragraph focuses on regret and an individual’s failed ambitions, rather than explaining why people today may experience more stress. The second paragraph mentions changing work opportunities and young people’s attitudes, but does not clearly explain the view that earlier generations faced greater pressure. Your opinion—that people should learn from the past rather than compare generations—is present, but its connection to the two views is not fully explained. Develop each side with a clear reason and a relevant example, and state directly which view you find more convincing. (63 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt at an overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “In contrast,” and a conclusion beginning “In conclusion.” These markers help the reader recognise the intended stages. However, ideas within paragraphs are not arranged in a consistently clear progression. In the first body paragraph, the account of a man’s mistakes and lost hopes is difficult to connect to the claim about stress in society. The second paragraph shifts from past generations to today’s work and then to Gen Z without clear links. Some references, such as “they” and “that’s reason,” are unclear. Use topic sentences that directly answer the question, then connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “stress,” “pressure,” “generations,” “regret,” and “goals,” and you attempt phrases such as “changed significantly.” This gives the response a basic vocabulary for discussing the subject. However, word choice and spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow: “back in life,” “present,” “feld,” “sucessced,” and “havey” are unclear or inaccurate in context. Several combinations are also unnatural, such as “go under the money problem” and “a plenty of mistakes.” Build a more reliable range of collocations for causes and effects of stress, and check spelling and word forms. For example, use “financial difficulties” and “made many mistakes.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “a man who tried…” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, errors are frequent, and several sentences are difficult to interpret. Examples include “It is produce,” “he doesn’t how to start,” “he gave up because he thoughts,” and “he couldn’t reached his goals.” These show problems with verb forms, missing words, and clause construction. There are also incomplete or awkward structures, such as “For main reasons is that…” and “Previous generations were hard working and creative thinking process.” Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and past-tense forms, and proofread each sentence to ensure it has a complete, clear grammatical structure.
