Student answer (Band 7.0)
The dependence on Artificial Intelligence has grown rapidly in recent times as the world has changed in a mammoth dimension. While this advancement in technology has myriad of advantages such as convenience and improved efficiency, it also has potential disadvantages particularly unemployment and privacy concerns which cannot be ignored.
Many wonderful facets are associated with the use of artificial intelligence. To commence with, the convenience offered by this innovation has revolutionized our lives in almost every aspect. From data processing in multinational companies to grammar correction in academics, most of the demographics have experienced the comfort of this advancement in numerous ways. To exemplify, the phone app ChatGPT has become indispensable in its users lives, as it provides instant access to information. Another significant benefit is improved efficiency, which is offered by automation of the routine administrative tasks. Since the cumbersome repetitive tasks can be easily done through AI, it has reduced the administrative burden drastically and improved work productivity.
Despite the above mentioned merits, there are some demerits which can not be ignored. While the workplaces are being equipped with the latest AI technologies, their dependence on the human workers is declining, which has led to an increase in unemployment at an alarming rate. Furthermore, since AI mainly operates on large amounts of personal data, the private data is at risk of being misused in an event of cyber data breach.
To conclude, even though the risks of reduced employment and potential data breaches are undeniable, still the associated enhanced usefulness of AI along with unmatched efficiency are the underpinnings for this development to become fruitful in the long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for a discussion on the societal perception of stress and whether it has increased compared to the past. However, the essay focuses entirely on the advantages and disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence. Because the student failed to address the specific task question provided, the response cannot be assessed as a successful attempt at the prompt. While the essay is structured as an academic response, it does not engage with the subject matter of stress at all, resulting in a failure to meet the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is well-structured with clear paragraphing and logical progression. The use of cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'To exemplify', and 'Despite the above mentioned merits' is effective and helps guide the reader through the argument. Each paragraph has a clear central theme, and the ideas are sequenced logically. While the content is irrelevant to the prompt, the internal structure and the way the writer links sentences and paragraphs demonstrate a level of proficiency that would be appropriate for a higher band if the content were relevant.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.5
The vocabulary used is varied and sophisticated, showing a good range of academic language. Phrases such as 'mammoth dimension', 'indispensable', 'cumbersome repetitive tasks', and 'underpinnings' demonstrate an ability to use less common lexical items with precision. There are no significant spelling errors, and the word choice is generally accurate and appropriate for an academic context. The writer shows a good command of collocation, which contributes to the overall fluency of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 8.0
The essay displays a good range of grammatical structures, including complex sentences and passive constructions (e.g., 'workplaces are being equipped', 'can be easily done'). The majority of sentences are error-free, and the punctuation is used correctly throughout. There is a high level of control over grammar, with only very rare slips. The complexity of the sentence structures is consistent with a high level of proficiency, demonstrating a strong grasp of English syntax.
