Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the impact of technology and workload, the arguments remain quite general. For example, the reference to 'people of America' or '19th century Bangladesh' lacks sufficient detail to fully support the claims. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more specific reasoning or illustrative examples. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis needs to be increased to reach a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'In one hand', 'In other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, some of these are used incorrectly (e.g., 'In one hand' should be 'On the one hand'). Additionally, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between technology and physical illness is a bit abrupt. Using a wider variety of linking words and improving the transition between ideas would enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. You use words like 'load', 'stress', and 'work' frequently. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'vast use of technologies' instead of 'widespread use of technology' and 'suffering in Insomnia' instead of 'suffering from insomnia'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'psychological strain', 'technological advancement', or 'demanding professional environment', and pay closer attention to correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'workload... has increases', 'Most of them was went'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'They was no development'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic tense consistency and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
