Student answer (Band 6.5)
Stress is considered as a serious issue in many communities. A number of individuals believe that the level of stress has increased than it used to be in past. While others feel, it seems like this just because now people know the term 'stress' which was not known before. And also think that people show magnified version of stress today. People used to feel stress in past. however, i believe the amount of stress individuals now go through is higher due to more advancements and large number of options.
On the one hand, life of any individual was not as much easy as right now people have. Individual has to go through anxiety due to various reason. It is somewhere true that people were not aware of term, so their feelings are overlooked by us now. For instance, in past, due to less advancement, students had to learn by their own self. They didn't have smartphones and other platforms to learn from. This led to certain kind of stress during exams when any student need help. Additionally, they were not even able to express their stress as the society was not familiar with these emotions. However, knowing less also benefited them to experience less responsibility and decision.
Where people think that now everyone is magnifying their level of stress. I rather believe that it is consider in a wrong way. People these days knows how to express their emotions and are not afraid to do that unlike in old times. Advancements make todays individuals feel more pressured as they have to prove themself everywhere. For instance, new innovation in biology is really difficult as majority of innovation are already done. Finding new requires more than enough time, energy and experience. which was not the case in past. Moreover, as people have more options, they tend to stress more about it. Human nature wants to pick best. Therefore, new generations go through more stress than past generations.
In conclusion, people today certainly know how to express stress and accept their feelings. This often misunderstood by some as exaggerating. Advancements driven modern society goes through more stress where in old times life was comparatively less stressful.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the comparison between past and present educational resources and the pressure of modern innovation. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the point about 'new innovation in biology' is a bit specific and could have been expanded to better support the broader argument about modern pressure. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting example is fully explained in relation to the prompt's core question regarding the nature of stress.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Where people think that now everyone is magnifying their level of stress.' The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed due to punctuation errors and sentence structure issues. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts to use topic-specific language like 'advancements', 'magnified', and 'emotions'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'magnified version of stress' instead of 'exaggerated' and 'it is consider in a wrong way' instead of 'it is considered a misconception'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. The student should focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing to improve lexical sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'in past' instead of 'in the past'), subject-verb agreement ('people knows' instead of 'people know'), and punctuation. Some sentences are fragmented or run-on, which occasionally affects readability. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb forms would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
