Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 185 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both sides of the argument—the increase in modern stress and the counter-argument regarding past generations—the discussion is incomplete and ends abruptly. The lack of a conclusion and the limited development of your supporting points mean that the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full, structured essay with a clear introduction, well-developed body paragraphs, and a concluding summary to fully explore the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear organizational structure. There is no paragraphing, which makes the text difficult to follow. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Due to' and 'another reason is', the flow is disrupted by the abrupt ending and the lack of logical progression between ideas. The absence of a clear introduction and conclusion further hinders the coherence of the piece. To achieve a higher band, you should organize your ideas into distinct paragraphs, each with a clear topic sentence, and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your arguments more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'stress issue' and 'high expectation'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'people reach was very limited' and 'attractive temperary'. To improve, you should focus on using more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. Expanding your range of synonyms and learning how to use them in context will help you express your ideas more effectively and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and missing punctuation (e.g., 'why in today times stress feels more real... there are many reasons to this'). You also struggle with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'in previous time' instead of 'in previous times'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. Focusing on basic sentence construction, punctuation, and ensuring subject-verb agreement will significantly improve the readability and accuracy of your writing.
