IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

My opinion was this genration is more stressful because they think a lot, they planning so many thing, and high expectation but they are serious about your mental health.

some people are exaggerated of that because the many reason they will face the stress. just like some family problems, financial crises, childhood trauma and many more reasons. but we can reduce that some meditation , yoga, zumba, some nature vibe that s why we can feel fresh and stress reduce .

I can suggested some therapy plan about it. because some trauma are not recognized , not pretand it but they can affecting us a lot and we are suffering a lot that's the reason therapy is also helping us reduce the stress .

Todays Genaration suffering more stress because they can hide his pain, feeling, Emotions and lots of thing they can hold thing in that inner face. in this time adulthood is more difficult because some trust issue and major problem is 90% people is not share thare problams because they face some fear of understanding, judgement that is one of them reason of face sress.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views and providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. The explanation of why previous generations might have been under more pressure is missing, and the discussion on the subconscious mind is largely irrelevant to the core task. The position is stated but lacks the depth of analysis required for a higher band. The essay reads more like a series of disjointed points rather than a cohesive argument, which prevents the ideas from being fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression between them is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; for example, the transition between the discussion of stress and the mention of 'meditation' or 'therapy' is abrupt. Referencing is often unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the connection between 'pycology' and the previous points is confusing. The overall structure is fragmented, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's line of reasoning throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'things' and 'reasons'. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'genration', 'pretand', 'thare', and 'pycology'. Some phrases are non-standard, such as 'nature vibe' and 'massage pass the subconscious mind', which impede clarity. While the writer attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'mental health', 'trauma', and 'subconscious', the lack of precision and the high frequency of errors significantly limit the range and accuracy of the language used.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('90% people is not share'), incorrect verb tenses, and fragmented sentence structures. Punctuation is inconsistent, and the use of complex sentences is largely unsuccessful, often leading to confusion. While the meaning can generally be understood, the persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction mean that the writer does not demonstrate control over a wide range of structures. Simple sentences are used, but they are frequently marred by errors.
