Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development is somewhat superficial. You identify that modern stress is linked to lifestyle and financial pressures, and contrast this with the physical hardships of the past. However, the arguments lack depth and specific examples are somewhat anecdotal or simplistic. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the two perspectives. To improve, ensure that your opinion is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the body paragraphs with more nuanced reasoning rather than just listing hardships.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Moreover', 'Also', 'Apart from it'). There are instances where the logical progression between sentences is weak, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between work-related stress and living standards feels disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow of ideas is occasionally interrupted by abrupt sentence structures. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'big issue', 'harder', and 'tough'. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'people often more exaggerated this' and 'the cost of marriage their children'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to sociology or lifestyle, and try to use more precise adjectives and verbs instead of relying on generic descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but grammatical errors are frequent and pervasive. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('stress are high', 'people lives'), missing articles ('without electric'), and tense inconsistencies ('life is harder in the past'). These errors occasionally make the text difficult to follow. While you attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, which limits your ability to convey sophisticated ideas accurately. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would significantly improve your score.
