In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays rapidly changing of world many aspects of human life are evolving significantly. In some societies considered stress is a major problem, it believe that people suffer from more then they in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have overstated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure but stress did not exist . This essay will examine the two views before giving my opinion.
Firstly, in some societies stress became an biggest problem ,like now they have a lot burden of office work. Moreover, education also become an stress issue such as most students not attend proper during the batch then at the last they suffer from stress. On the other hand they have not more pressure but they feel stress like they want to clear ILETS exam but have not much days for their preparation then they feel stress and at the last they cannot pass the exam.
Secondly, some believe previous generation have a lot of work and they do it in full confident. In addition, in past have much skills rather then degrees but now think only degree is important not skills. As a result past generations not compete with other so that feel less stress full. In contrast now only competition with others and not develop skills. In my opinion, now generations feel more stress because they compete with other residents.
To summarize it , now resident feel more stress as compare to past generations and they have a lot of pressure. In the past they focus only developing skills therefore they not feel stress of lot of burden but now people only competition with others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding 'office work' and 'students' is somewhat superficial and lacks specific evidence or logical depth. The comparison between past and present generations is repetitive, focusing heavily on 'skills' versus 'degrees' without fully exploring the nuance of why stress might be considered exaggerated. To improve, you should expand on your points with more concrete examples and ensure that your reasoning is fully explained rather than just stated. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more substance to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'at the last' are used incorrectly to mean 'ultimately' or 'in the end'. Additionally, the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, making the logical progression feel disjointed. For instance, the shift from discussing students to the IELTS exam is sudden. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'not attend proper' instead of 'not attend classes properly' and 'stress full' instead of 'stressful'. The repetition of basic words like 'stress', 'work', and 'pressure' limits the sophistication of the response. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to sociology or psychology and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'previous generation have', 'resident feel'), missing articles ('in past', 'in some societies'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'In todays rapidly changing of world'). Complex sentence structures are attempted but often contain errors, such as 'they do it in full confident'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly. Proofreading for common errors like missing prepositions or incorrect verb tenses will significantly improve your clarity.
