You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The topic stress as sparked considerable discussion in recent years, it is commanded as a serious issue. While some human says that individual from current era have suffer more from the stress than previous times. The people from previous generation believe that the amout of stress has been decreased in modern times, and says that they were under most stress. In my opinion previous generation had face more difficulties than today's people. This essay will explain why.
The technolgy play an crucial role in today's people lives, as the days passed the technolgy improved and with the help of technolgy the numerous bussinesses has been established, and that is why the oppotunities for the citizens has increased and the employement rate and poverty rate is decreased. For instance, during 2010 the India's unemployement rate was 43% which has been decreased to only 14% in 2025. In addition, the the work load on individuals has decreased on people because of the modern equipments such as dishwasher, washing machine, vaccume cleaner. Moreover numerous places has been developed to tackle stress for example, massage parlour, movie theatre.
In contrast, the people from old era need more manpower to complete the work and the payment they recived is quite small compare to todays world. Moreover they don not had the transport facilities and modern technology in hospitals that is why most of the humans lost their life. The numbers of institutes were less in old era because of that most of the humans were illiterate and they did not get the opportunities in big organisations and remained unemployed.
In conclusion, i believe that the people from previous times sufferd most than today. Because the technolgy has improved siginificantly and give relif to modern people by icreasing and devloping jobs, machinaries and facilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention technology and historical hardships, the link between these factors and the concept of 'stress' is not always explicitly clear. For instance, the argument that unemployment rates decreased in India is a factual claim that lacks a direct connection to the psychological experience of stress. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point made directly supports the prompt's focus on stress levels rather than general economic progress. The position is consistent, but the supporting evidence could be more closely tied to the core topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Moreover', and 'For instance' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical transitions and repetitive sentence structures. Some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'the people' without specific context in the opening. Paragraphing is present, but the internal progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'technolgy', 'bussinesses', 'oppotunities', 'employement', 'vaccume', 'siginificantly', 'relif', 'machinaries'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'illiterate' and 'manpower', the range is limited. To improve, you should focus on mastering the spelling of common academic words and expanding your range of collocations. Using more precise terminology related to mental health or historical societal structures would also elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the technolgy play', 'numerous places has been developed'), article usage ('the India's'), and tense inconsistencies ('they don not had'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with comma splices in the introduction. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors indicate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and sentence boundaries, will be essential for achieving a higher band score.
