Student answer (Band 6.0)
Stress is considered as the most significant issue globally. Numerous generations has passed through stress and succeed in their lives. In recent times, Few societies regarded stress as a paramount issue which people suffer, while some argues that previous generation gone through more pressure, perhaps they were not aware about it. In this essay i intend to articulate both the views and give my opinion at the end.
To begin with, Our hectic routine and lifestyle is significant factor which leads stress. it is irrefutable that modern societies are living in era were competition is high and work place is highly pressurize. In contrast, with emerging technology people are getting replaced by artificial intelligence is also a prominent factor of stress. As people are getting more aware about stress management, they start addressing the mental pressure an individual face
On the other hand, People back in time need to face less competition but the convenient and wealthy lifestyle was a luxury. People often need to struggle to achieve bit of a privilege. As people might not have a proper awareness, they fail to convey the mental pressure which they suffer. Moreover, people in past were stereotypical and do not believe in sharing much as i was considered as a sign of weakness.
To conclude with, Both the societies had to suffer equivalent amount of stress. In my perspective, Modern education's emphasis on stress awareness make modern society address the issue which they face, while people in past fail to do so due to lack of awareness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding artificial intelligence is introduced but not fully explained in relation to the prompt's core question about whether stress is exaggerated today. The comparison between past and present is a bit superficial, relying on generalizations rather than specific, well-supported evidence. To improve, you should expand on your points with concrete examples—such as specific workplace pressures or historical societal norms—to ensure the response is more thoroughly developed. Your position is clear, but the depth of analysis needs to be increased to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with,' 'In contrast,' and 'On the other hand,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the impact of AI and the awareness of stress. Additionally, the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, which affects the overall cohesion. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'irrefutable,' 'paramount,' and 'articulate.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'numerous generations has passed through stress' (should be 'experienced') and 'i was considered as a sign of weakness' (referring to 'it'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and ensure you are using vocabulary that is appropriate for an academic context rather than relying on slightly informal or imprecise phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('generations has passed'), article usage ('in era were competition'), and tense consistency. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and sentence boundaries. While you attempt complex structures, they are often marred by errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common slips. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences is essential for moving up the band scale, as the current error rate is quite noticeable throughout the text.
