IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

In the era of technology people are sharing their life on internet and other people start comparing them to ourself and it make them fell demotivated and stressed, because people want to achive a perfect social lifestyle and seeing other people living a lavish life style start to make them fell non worthy. In the era of technology we are upgrading technology daily and some time is hard to learn them its make us fell less knowledgeable compare to others and people fell that so much, In the current lifestyle where every thing is easy and convivnet people still relay on something and that's make fell stressed.

Back days people are relay on theirself and people don't compare themself to others and now it's totally opposite

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 160 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both views—the modern prevalence of stress and the perspective that previous generations faced more pressure—the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or evidence. The discussion is repetitive, and the conclusion is abrupt. To improve, you must expand your points with detailed explanations and concrete examples to fully explore the prompt's complexities.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphing is insufficient. While there is a basic attempt to sequence ideas, the progression is often disjointed. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'In the era of technology' and 'people'. The lack of clear transitions between sentences makes the argument difficult to follow. To improve, you should use a standard essay structure (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion) and employ a wider variety of linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. You frequently use basic words like 'people', 'stress', and 'life'. There are also several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'phyiscaly', 'convivnet', and 'relay on theirself' (rely on themselves). The range is insufficient to convey precise meaning or academic tone. To improve, focus on learning synonyms and collocations related to the topic, such as 'psychological well-being', 'societal pressures', or 'technological advancement', and ensure you check your spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('it's really effect'), sentence fragments, and incorrect verb forms ('people are relay on'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
