You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argue that individuals suffer from more stress than they did in the past, while others believe that previous generations were under more pressure but the idea of suffering from stress never existed. Both perspective have their own merits. Thus essay will examine both viewpoints before explaining why I believe individuals suffer more stress from past is more convincing.

Those who support people nowadays suffer more from stress argue that the competition around them has evolved very much than in past. This is because the every thing around us has their own changed the environment the thinking capacity of the people. As a result people suffer more in the society and get more stressed. For example, the cost of living has surged very high than that of past, but the salary hiked has remained comparatively lower. As a result a common man is not able to compete in this society and get stressed about their future and family. Therefore, it is understandable why many people consider this approach to be a major problem.

On the other hand, those who support that amount of people suffering from stress in previous generation were lower. The primary reason for this is that the people in the past were less educated and had very low competition in their life. which means that it was easier for them to run their family in the salary they had in the past

In conclusion, both viewpoints offer valid arguments. However, I believe that people now suffer more from stress because the competion now is increased. adopting this

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding the 'cost of living' is relevant, but the explanation of why previous generations had less stress is underdeveloped and lacks specific evidence. The conclusion is incomplete, as the final sentence is cut off, which prevents a full summary of your position. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph contains a well-explained example and that your conclusion fully restates your position without introducing new, unfinished thoughts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Thus essay' should be 'This essay', and the transition 'On the other hand, those who support that amount of people...' is grammatically awkward and lacks a clear subject. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by these errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'evolved very much' and 'get stressed'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'salary hiked' instead of 'salary hikes' or 'salary increases'. The repetition of the word 'stress' throughout the essay indicates a limited range of synonyms. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'financial burden', 'psychological pressure', or 'socio-economic factors'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'It is often argue'), missing articles, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'the every thing around us has their own changed the environment'). The sentence fragments and the incomplete final sentence significantly impact the overall accuracy. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for missing words or incorrect verb forms.
