Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views, but the development is limited and the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the score. The arguments are underdeveloped; for instance, the explanation of why past generations were under pressure is superficial and lacks depth. While a personal opinion is mentioned in the conclusion, it is not well-integrated or supported throughout the body paragraphs. The ideas are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored, and the under-length nature of the essay prevents a more thorough discussion of the complex prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic paragraphing and some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion'. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The transition between sentences is frequently mechanical, and there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect arguments logically. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the internal structure of paragraphs is weak, making the flow of the argument feel repetitive and simplistic. The overall organization is present but lacks the flexibility and variety required for a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'stress', 'pressure', and 'work'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'early people' instead of 'people in the past' and 'fertilize' instead of 'fertilizers'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate precision or flexibility. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation and usage prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More sophisticated synonyms and topic-specific collocations are needed.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('a software company'), subject-verb agreement issues ('every people have'), and incorrect verb tenses ('they eating healthy food'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors and the lack of complex sentence structures limit the score. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and increasing the variety of grammatical forms used.
