Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views but fails to develop them sufficiently. The arguments are repetitive and lack specific examples or evidence, which is required for a higher band. The position is stated but not consistently supported throughout the essay. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the topic. The conclusion merely restates the points without adding depth or a clear, personal synthesis of the arguments. To improve, you must expand on your ideas with concrete examples and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for full task development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'on the one hand' and 'on the other hand', but the flow between sentences is often mechanical. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak because the ideas are not logically sequenced or extended. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas feels repetitive rather than building toward a coherent argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more professional flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'individuals', 'stress', and 'past' without demonstrating a range of synonyms or more sophisticated academic collocations. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'work burden on employers to do' and 'upcoming of new technology'. These errors occasionally make the text difficult to follow. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and focus on correct word collocations, such as 'workload' instead of 'work burden' and 'technological advancements' instead of 'upcoming of new technology'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Examples include 'it is think that', 'their are more work burden', 'individuals has been suffer', and 'all works are done'. These errors in subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and article usage are pervasive. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of complex structures and the high frequency of basic errors prevent a higher score. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
