Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding modern stress (e.g., 'home work and gob') and past stress (e.g., 'feed those Cow') are somewhat simplistic and lack depth. The explanation of why stress is perceived differently is underdeveloped, and the essay relies on generalizations rather than well-supported evidence. To improve, you should aim to expand your points with more sophisticated reasoning and clearer examples that directly relate to the societal changes mentioned in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In the other part' or 'In the my own opinion'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly within the paragraphs where sentences do not always flow logically from one to the next. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of varied linking words makes the writing feel repetitive. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'gob' instead of 'job', 'shieldrens' for 'children', and 'bazaar for sale some own think'. These errors sometimes make it difficult for the reader to grasp the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you need to move beyond simple vocabulary and attempt to use more precise, academic language. Focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are appropriate for a formal essay context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'One side of people think'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'went to feed those Cow'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, which occasionally impedes the flow of reading. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage, before attempting more complex structures.
