Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is an ongoing debate was people live in some societies faced major stressed problem than past, On the other side some argue that the amount of stressed people faced today is exaggerated.the old people were faced highly stressed condition than today .Therefore, ahead of my opinions, both views will be discussed with an examples. Examining the former opinion, the primary argument the supporters would put forward is the today generation suffer from stress condition. This is because today people live in their busy life.Their living cost is high.therefore,They faced more pressure. For instance, due to unemployment or overpopulation the living expenses so high. so, they feel more stressed to live. In addition, people spent less time to their families or friends to fulfill the requirements of their needs or to secure the future . for example, students have high pressure to get good marks to get good job. On the contrary, those in favour of the latter opinion have their own arguments. To begin with, they claim that the previous generation were under more pressure than today people. Moreover, they lack proper healthcare.they do not have good jobs to earn money.so, poverty rate is high. The old generation also did not know the term of stress or mental health.for example our grandparents did alot of physical work without machinaries. to conclude this, there were convincing arguments both of the sides. both generation faced stress in different

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, though the conclusion is incomplete. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the main points regarding modern stress (living costs, work-life balance) and historical hardship (poverty, lack of healthcare) are relevant, they are presented in a somewhat superficial manner. The position is clear, but the lack of a fully developed conclusion and the insufficient length prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation and a concrete example, and always complete the final paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'In addition', 'For instance', and 'On the contrary', but their usage is often mechanical or incorrectly punctuated. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. The logical progression is hindered by the fragmented nature of the sentences and the incomplete conclusion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the old people were faced highly stressed condition'. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that cohesive devices are used to link complete thoughts rather than just starting new, short sentences would significantly improve the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There is a reliance on simple terms like 'stressed', 'good', and 'problems'. There are also frequent errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'today generation' instead of 'today's generation' or 'without machinaries' instead of 'without machinery'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to sociology and mental health, and work on using more varied adjectives and nouns to avoid repeating the same basic vocabulary throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including missing articles, incorrect verb tenses, and faulty sentence structures. For example, 'There is an ongoing debate was people live' is grammatically incoherent. Punctuation is also problematic, with many sentences starting with lowercase letters or lacking proper spacing after periods. While there is an attempt at complex structures, they are often inaccurate, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent use of articles before nouns. Proofreading for punctuation and capitalization is also essential.
