Student answer (Band 5.5)

Recently, there is a claim that people are overthinking about the serve level of stress, comparing to how people experienced it in the past, with more stressful situation without complaining. Personally, stress level is different among generations as previously, human lifestyle was simplier than people nowadays and they did have the probability of artificial inteligent job replacement. This perspective will be clarified in this essay.

In current modern era, industries receive various assistance from technologies, thus, requiring higher standards of hired employees, posing jobless threat to human. Meta has fired thousands of employees and replaced them with AI as it believed that AI is more proficient than human. Various occupantions such as, analyst or designer position are no longer opened to juniors. Therefore, graduates are facing a significant potential of being umployed, worsening their stress and invisibily creates lower self-esteems.

Comparing to preivious eras while nations were still developing, human life was simplier as the main cares circulated around life quality and wars only but it also led to stress. However, the life quality concern still remains until modern era but in a more dangerous condition. Specifically, social media has become popular, indicating that peer pressure appears frequently, worsening the mental health which was not existed in the past.

In conclusion, each era has it distinct stress causes but human, nowdays, has to bare with various threats from technologies while human living in previous generation did not experience that.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development is limited by the word count, which falls below the 250-word requirement. The arguments regarding AI and social media are relevant but remain somewhat superficial. The introduction is a bit unclear, and the conclusion does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. Because the essay is under-length, the depth of analysis is restricted, preventing a higher score. To improve, you should expand on your examples—for instance, explaining how social media specifically creates 'peer pressure'—and ensure your position is more explicitly stated in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the logical progression is sometimes hampered by awkward phrasing and limited use of cohesive devices. While some linking words like 'Therefore' and 'Specifically' are used, the transitions between ideas are occasionally mechanical or abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between Meta's actions and the broader claim about stress could be more explicitly connected. Improving the use of cohesive devices to link sentences and paragraphs more fluidly would significantly enhance the clarity of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors (e.g., 'simplier', 'inteligent', 'occupantions', 'umployed', 'invisibily', 'nowdays', 'bare'). While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'artificial inteligent' and 'peer pressure', the frequent spelling mistakes and minor collocation errors (e.g., 'overthinking about the serve level') detract from the overall quality. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise academic collocations rather than relying on simpler, sometimes incorrectly used, terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'mental health which was not existed'), incorrect verb forms, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'Recently, there is a claim that...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors indicate a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency will help improve your score.
