Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent time, Most people want to feel happy and relaxed but some situations can make people more stressful. Moreover, Some people believe that stress is now regarded as a major problem and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated or previous generations were under more pressure. This topic will discuss both these views and give my opinion.

On the one hand, Some people think that stress is now regarded as a major problem because they want to everything perfect but it is not possible that's why some major problems may create. Therefore, They suffer from stress. Moreover, Many people's could more thinking about past actions such as specially bad situation, bad news, and failure , It is a major significant reason for suffering stress. In my opinion, People should not think about fast actions and they should try to solve this problems without taking the stress.

On the other hand, The importance of technology is increasing day-by-day. Therefore, Problems can improve easily related to all humans activity such as failure, bad relationship with others, and overthinking. In my point of view, Previous generations were under more pressure because they want to live freely, they don't want to follow any rules, and differences of thinking for new technology and trends between younger and older people. Nowadays, New generations quickly take serious any situation and they can think more on it.

In conclusion, There are many features affected on the human's attitude and nature. In addition, In my point of view, People should not think more about past so they can easily reduce stress. And, Previous generations should try to reduce stress through different ways. Additionally, Competition was not very high before but today it is very high. Therefore, Younger feel more stressful. In my view, Everyone should try to solve all problems without taking stress. So, People can easily solve this problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. For example, the explanation of why previous generations were under more pressure is vague, mentioning 'they want to live freely' without sufficient elaboration or logical connection to the prompt. The arguments are repetitive, and the link between technology and stress is not fully explored. While the essay covers all parts of the task, the ideas lack depth and the supporting evidence is insufficient to reach a higher band. The position is stated but not consistently maintained throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are often followed by sentences that do not logically flow from the previous point. For instance, the transition between the discussion of technology and the pressure on previous generations is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'this problems' without a clear antecedent. The overall structure is mechanical, and the lack of logical development within paragraphs hinders the clarity of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'problems', 'stress', and 'people'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Many people's could more thinking about past actions' and 'New generations quickly take serious any situation'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or an awareness of style. The student struggles to use words accurately in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Many people's could more thinking'), incorrect verb forms, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'There are many features affected on the human's attitude'). Punctuation is also problematic, with frequent misuse of commas and capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction significantly limits the range and accuracy of the writing.
