In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and its thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, other feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated because previous generations were under more pressure. Discuss both views and give my own opinion.

On the one hand, people had a many reasons to experience stress, people in the past often difficulty working condition and fewer facilities than people have now. They also have poverty wars, limited facilities like healthcare and technology. In addition, they had to perform many physical tasks themselves, this could many challenging. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the second paragraph touches on historical hardships, the points are listed rather than fully extended. The third paragraph regarding modern stress is more developed, but the link between 'mobile phone use' and 'rising costs' in the conclusion is slightly disjointed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with a clear logical connection to the prompt's core question about whether stress is 'exaggerated' or 'genuine'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Another, important cause is...' and the comma usage within sentences sometimes disrupts the flow. Referencing is generally clear, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly rather than relying on simple additive structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'stress', 'facilities', and 'pressure'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'mentally exhausted' and 'financial pressure', there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'persist constantly also connect each other' and 'cause to people compare'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score as the range is not sufficiently flexible to express complex ideas with precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('other feel', 'social media cause to people'), missing articles ('had a many reasons'), and punctuation errors (unnecessary commas). Some sentences are run-on or lack proper conjunctions, such as 'They also have poverty wars, limited facilities...'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is not yet consistent.
