Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on modern versus past stress and providing the writer's own opinion. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay, notably in sentences like 'In my opinion, i see that people suffer from more stress now than in past time.' However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on brief assertions without deep exploration or robust supporting examples. For instance, the mention that 'many workers in present time working for more than eight hours daily' touches on relevant evidence but lacks elaboration. The arguments tend to generalise rather than being fully extended. Despite these limitations in development, the task has been adequately addressed to satisfy the requirements for a Band 5.5 to 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays a generally coherent overall arrangement with basic paragraphing applied, separating the introduction, two body viewpoints, the personal opinion, and the conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently hindered by mechanical and faulty cohesive devices, such as 'While in the other hand' and 'In the other side'. Referencing and linking between sentences are often awkward, leading to choppy transitions that disrupt the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks sophistication and clarity. These structural and cohesive weaknesses place the response firmly at the Band 5.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic ideas about stress, lifestyle, and work, featuring terms such as 'generation', 'lifestyle', 'educational system', and 'population'. However, there is a limited and repetitive range of vocabulary combined with noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'deivded' instead of divided, 'belive' instead of believe, 'suffring' instead of suffering, 'comunity' instead of community, 'presuure' instead of pressure, 'mindes' instead of minds, 'segnificant' instead of significant, 'chalenge' instead of challenge, 'specificly' instead of specifically, 'allways' instead of always, 'popullation' instead of population, 'cocnlusion' instead of conclusion, and 'domain' instead of domains. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as subordinate clauses beginning with 'although' and 'as long as'. However, grammatical accuracy is very weak, with frequent errors occurring in almost every sentence. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people deivded', 'many workers... working', 'popullation has'), tense errors ('people did not meeting it'), missing articles, and incorrect prepositions ('in past time' instead of in the past). Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with lowercase 'i' used for the pronoun 'I'. Because the frequency of errors is high and basic grammatical rules are repeatedly violated, the response earns a Band 4.5.
